Pros: Electronic switching vs. mechanical. Small / inconspicuous.

Cons: None really except that the blue "power light" is a little bright!

Overall Review: Tried a "traditional" 2 - 1 splitter (i.e. Y-cable). Another reviewer suggested it would work with short toslink cables (3 ft) and outputs that were not powered when off. This didn't work for me. Reviews for mechanical switches were consistently marginal. The BYTECC switch operates very easily with none of the drawbacks mentioned for mechanical switches. Overall experience so far is very positive.
