Solid Like a Rock

ASUS Black 12X Blu-ray Burner SATA BW-12B1ST/BLK/G/AS
ASUS Black 12X Blu-ray Burner SATA BW-12B1ST/BLK/G/AS

Pros: This purchase is actually the 4th one of this specific drive, and I have had other ASUS CD/DVD burners going back to the beginning of DVD burners. I have owned a LOT of different manufactures products, and I can honestly say, "over time" ASUS beats them all.

Cons: At first a lot of people may think these are a little on the "noisy" side, and in fact they are compared to one other manufacturer namely "samsung". But over time you will find they are about the same.

Overall Review: I'm one of those people that once I find something that works, I pretty much just stay there. Over the years I have tried many different optical drives, and many come close to the overall performance of ASUS, but for long gevity and overall performance I bet on ASUS, even though I feel there are others that may be as good.

Not worth the headache

NTi Backup Now 5 Advanced
NTi Backup Now 5 Advanced

Pros: Easy to install

Cons: I had searched a lot of companies for a very long time, trying to find one that I could be SURE would do the job. After talking to this company directly, they convinced me they were "it". On the first failure I had, the "start up disk" that was made would not boot up, and then wouldn't run when I used another system to boot up on, so the whole thing was worthless. I also had the same issue as the other remark that after 2 installs it's like pulling teeth to get a key back. They need to understand that when I purchase their software, it's MINE, not theirs.

Great Price for the T/$

SAMSUNG D3 Station 5TB USB 3.0 3.5" Desktop External Hard Drive STSHX-D501TDB Black
SAMSUNG D3 Station 5TB USB 3.0 3.5" Desktop External Hard Drive STSHX-D501TDB Black

Pros: Can't beat it for the price on a "size/dollar" ratio. Simple cabling system, easy for dummy install there, Good for lots of video for those amateur video bloggers out there.

Cons: Instructions to get the full 5T wasn't in instructions. This read as a 2.5T drive, and not a 5T which is what it is. While on hold to Samsung, I pulled my disk management tools up, and found it would allow me to "re-format" it into a 4.77T drive, and after that, the problem was solved. So before you send it back, try "re-formatting" (NTSF). Save yourself a real headache.

Overall Review: I'll check back with you when I have had this for a while longer, but I expect it to work just like the 3T Samsung that is in the exact same case, that I have already had for years. Only small irritant operationally is that it his to "wake up" each time you go to it, which takes about 7 seconds on my machine.

For being such a big name, very dissapointing.

Turtle Beach Ear Force Z300 Wireless 7.1 Surround Sound PC Gaming Headset
Turtle Beach Ear Force Z300 Wireless 7.1 Surround Sound PC Gaming Headset

Pros: Connects to phone and PC at the same time - EXCELLENT!

Cons: 1 I have had this unit replaced 5 times since first purchasing it. It has failed between the headset and transmitter most of the time, just out of now where, it stops transmitting (or receiving, hard to say which) 2 For a Major Brand, they need a call center, this "You email me, and I'll email you" is for the birds, if you have several test you have to go through with them, it takes 2 weeks just to get all the emailing done. 3 The product doesn't hold up. Five replacements proves that. 4 Ear Cups are too shallow, they will bite a hole in your ear. I have rubber banded several layers of soft tissue over them to "soften" the rubbing. 5 Sound is NOT worth $200.00. I have another headset that cost 50.00 that sounds as good or better, and definitely fit more comfortably.

Overall Review: The features on this headset are excellent, it's a shame they didn't spend as much time making them comfortable, and durable. If they wouldn't break down and fit better I would definitely want to keep them.

Way Over-Priced

VERBATIM Spindle of 10 DVD+RW (8cm) - 1.4 GB - storage media
VERBATIM Spindle of 10 DVD+RW (8cm) - 1.4 GB - storage media

Pros: Exceptionally good product for short "Video Mail" (which I use them a LOT for), extreamly good for a small amount of pictures or music that you want to transfer without spending a lot. Very wise to keep 1.4, 4.7, 8.6 gig disks on hand to right to. I like the 1.4s especially for sending a letter. Buy small manilla envelopes to put them in, then drop in standard mailing envelope, and the cost is standard postage for a letter, no more. If you record from computer webcam, and then convert to standard "DVD" format, these will give you EXACTLY 15 minutes of record time. Just right for a personal letter.

Cons: On this web site - WAY TOO MUCH MONEY - I buy these all the time for 6.30 for 20 disks plus shipping (total cost 9.30) and that is for the more expensive 1.4GIG disks.

Good Price Fair Performance

HooToo HT-UH001 SuperSpeed 7-Port USB 3.0 Hub
HooToo HT-UH001 SuperSpeed 7-Port USB 3.0 Hub

Pros: Very simple to install. Takes advantage of ports at back of computer, Good visual indicators. Very stable IF you use those double sided stickies to keep it in one place good and solid. Otherwise you will have trouble with your devices keep "coming unplugged" and then going back in service over and over.

Cons: interferes with 2.0 ports during boot up. After connecting, I found that my Keyboard was no longer active UNTIL my OS started. This meant that I couldn't get into my BIOS if needed, which is pretty important with ASUS motherboards (which I have). IF I disconnect the hub during boot up, the motherboard works correctly. You will find some pretty bizarre "fixes" to this issue over the internet. Personally, I find just pulling the power tap to the hub before booting up a lot more simple and a lot less intrusive than the "fixes" that you will find.

Overall Review: At first I wasn't happy at all, but over time, it has been a big advantage
