Pros: Compact and light weight. Fits in travel case with netbook. No power cord needed. Recognized by laptop immediately without a hitch. Desktop machine needed to load a driver, and restart; but again without a hitch. Surprising fast reading for loading data files and transferring video files.

Cons: It's essentially all plastic, and feels a bit fragile. Probably not a good idea to drop it.

Overall Review: I have 3 burners in my tower for reading/writing video and data files; 3 different brands, none of them this brand. Occasionally I have snags reading a disk in one or two drives, but among the three of them I can always get it done. However, not today. I was unable to get two files off of a double layer DVD RW on any of those three internal readers. I plugged in this slim external reader and bingo, it worked !!! Truly saved the day. I was very impressed.

Overall Review: have tried to write to these on 3 different burners - Plextor, Sony and Lite-On. No reliable success. Failure rate 70 to 80 percent on writing. By comparison, have had very little or no problems writing Verbatum on same burners. In my experience, this comparison is true for double layer and single layer DVD and also CD. I will buy RiData again.

Pros: Compact. Great quality and finish. Matches perfectly in look and size under my 32" flat screen smart TV in apartment. Excellent sound for TV, movies, music streaming. Love "clear voice" feature. Good bass response for such a small footprint; has subwoofer output, but I don't need that in my setup.

Cons: A bit funky communication between Samsung smart TV and Yamaha unit, as sound seems to switch back to TV as source input on TV is changed. Not sure why (maybe just need to read directions more carefully) - not enough problem to delete eggs.

Overall Review: Well worth the cost on sale; would not have considered at regular price. I have used Yamaha electronics literally for decades, especially receivers/amps with surround sound, processors and multi-zones. This unit does not disappoint.

Pros: I upgraded from Yamaha RXV-2400 in order to get digital video, network access, more flexibility. Even without any adjustments, this simply sounds better than my previous equipment, in addition to the added capabilities (which are many).

Cons: It's complicated.

Overall Review: I have been using Yamaha amps in my home stereo since 1978, and in home theater for ten years. Having moved up to B&W speakers, I am now using Rotel power amps to drive my L/R/C fronts and using the Yamaha A/V unit as pre-amp/processor. I am using the Yamaha amp for surround and back speakers. It's all good. I went with the RX-A3000 for flexibility, for video processing, and for multi-zone capability rather than the 1000 or 2000 model. No regrets here.
