PEERLESS P299508LF Two Handle Kitchen Faucet Chrome

Pros: Looks and feels great and the mechanisms work smoothly.

Overall Review: I had the worker in the building put it for me and he was done very quickly.

Most Critical Review

Dosn't Work with Linux kernel 4.4.10 under Proxmox.

Mediasonic ProBox HP1-SS3 PCI-Express 2.0 x1 SATA III (6.0Gb/s) Controller Card
Mediasonic ProBox HP1-SS3 PCI-Express 2.0 x1 SATA III (6.0Gb/s) Controller Card

Pros: I can take it out of the box and it fits in the slot.

Cons: Kernel error. The issue could be with the Mediasonic unit itself but I don't know. I have tried different cables beside the one which came with the storage unit and I have tried different Mediasonic units. Overall Review: Mediasonic should realize that with the pervasiveness of Linux and many other technologies like virtualization there are people beyond the Microsoft world who will use their product differently. Now I'm considering buying a storage case from newegg with Centronic ports in the back and selecting my own multiplier for it and a system card which is known to work with linux in order to assure better performance. Your prices are good but if you don't realize that you are in the business of making money and that allegiance to a brand is suicide for the most part nowadays then you will lose sale to other companies. I run Proxmox and I am interested in buying many more storage units because I want to control my data and try new things for my work. If there is something I need which I do not have, please indicate to me. If others have had similar experiences, again let me know so I can get past this point, otherwise I will have to RMA this unit if possible.

One of them is bad

Visiontek 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Black Label Desktop Memory Model 900408
Visiontek 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Black Label Desktop Memory Model 900408

Pros: It is labeled as memory

Cons: Sent the memory with a motherboard to ASROCK thinking that the problem was with the motherboard but it was actually bad memory. No buying from that company anymore.

Freezes at the "BIOS."

ASRock AM1B-ITX AM1 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 HDMI Mini ITX AMD Motherboard
ASRock AM1B-ITX AM1 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 HDMI Mini ITX AMD Motherboard

Pros: Reading the features, one can dream about what could be built. It can handle a good amount of memory and it has USB3.

Cons: Purchased as part of a Newegg combo it wouldn't boot and sometimes it would stop at the firmware and then freeze. I never went beyond that point except once I manage to make it to a another page but never more. Newegg shouldn't offer combos with items which do not work with each other. Newegg has been at this for too long not to be able to either clearly state that there is may be special requirement and offer items it knows would circumvent the problem. Let the buyer make an informed decision.

Overall Review: I did get a RMA but due to work schedule didn't get to it; I contacted Newegg on the last day but they wouldn't extend it or renew it. So now I have to deal with ASRock. We'll see how that goes. Someone else mentioned that they used a 500W PSU; what's the point of getting a mini-itx and such a PSU? It seems akin to getting a Raspberry Pi with a 50-100W PSU.

Can't yet see it in Linux

SANS DIGITAL TowerRAID TR4UTBNC 0, 1, 10, 3, 5, Clone (N-way Mirror) with Hot Spare and JBOD 4 3.5" Drive Bays USB 2.0 and eSATA 4 Bay USB 2.0 / eSATA Hardware RAID 5 Tower (Black)

Pros: Documentation makes the device sound interesting and the price was right. Newegg's stellar delivery and service.

Cons: plugged in my drives, turned on the device and ran a dmesg thinking that at the very least the kernel would get some signal but nothing happened. The device is connected to a Dell Optiplex 780. I shutdown the unit and configured it for R10 and turned it on again (now all 4 lights come on) but to no avail. I have sent an email to SansDigital. Until they write me back it's going to sit on my desk and the project I was going to use this for is on hold. I will probably return it to Newegg and spend my money on another company.

Overall Review: It may very well be an operator error and if it is I will stand corrected but it's about time that companies come to understand that it's about people buying their products. There are at least 2-3 people at work who want to know if this works. Guess what they use at home and at work? Like I've said I will wait until they reply. If they don't I'm sending it back and spending money elsewhere.

Sometimes it works and others not

SYBA SY-BIR-IDESA Bi-directional IDE/SATA Adapter
SYBA SY-BIR-IDESA Bi-directional IDE/SATA Adapter

Pros: When it works it does. Speeds are great depending the drive but over all speed improvements are discernible.

Cons: More often than not, it fails. Meaning that the drives will not be seen. I have tried the many different permutations of the switch, connector (to on board IDE to back of drive) to no avail.

Overall Review: I have had more successes with this Item http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16812186078&cm_re=sata_to_ide-_-12-186-078-_-Product I had purchased a few of the items reviewed and still haven't tried them all. If they work with my old machines then so be it. But I know that I will no longer spend my money on them.
