HP Split X2 [13-g110dx] 13.3" IPS Touchscreen Laptop & Tablet - Intel Core i5-4202Y 1.6Ghz (2.00Ghz Turbo), 4GB DDR3L RAM, 128GB SSD, Beats Audio Dual Speakers, USB 3.0, HDMI Out, HD Webcam, Windows 8

Pros: Great battery life. I got lucky compared to the other reviews. Super fast and responsive. Gotta love the SSD. Has some nice features like wifi hotspot, tablet option, i5, Beats Audio, etc. Upgradeable to Windows 8.1. I like 8.1 so this is a pro for me. It did take me a while to get it to upgrade. You will need to install ALL the updates, which took over night then you can upgrade to 8.1. So took almost 2 days to download and install all the updates. The hotspot is a great feature. Allows you to connect other devices and provide internet to them. Like my Ipad, iPhone, etc. when I am at a clients office. I just have to connect one device to their wifi.

Cons: Within a month of owning, I have a dead pixel in the middle of the screen. I've finally gotten used to it for the most part, but still very disappointing. I expected with it being refurbished that there would be some issues, but the case had more scratches than I anticipated. Have to use a separate mouse if you want to play some games like X-Com, LOTRO, the new Civilization. Took me a while to figure that out as my old laptop the trackpad would work for that. Tablet does NOT match online manuals. I wanted to upgrade the SSD to 240 GB and ram to 8GB and the screws that are found on the bottom of the tablet on online reviews are not present. So I'm having issues getting the tablet to separate and can't even get IT companies to assist with it. No Windows sticker on the bottom. So if the SSD were to crash, you would have to purchase Windows. I typically would like to do a clean install, but I didn't feel comfortable with the lack of a product key attached to the computer. I really wish both USB ports were 3.0. And I understand it makes it thicker and is used rarely, but I have needed an Ethernet port recently. But I have ordered a USB to Ethernet adapter to compensate.

Overall Review: Overall, I haven't YET experienced the issues others have mentioned in their reviews. Newegg authorized a RMA on it due to the dead pixel, however, after reading the reviews and all the battery issues I decided to keep it. I use this for work and this is my busy time of the year so I could NOT go without this laptop for a week. I needed to be able to boot from a USB drive and my old laptop would not. I think it's a pretty good value for what your paying for. I am pretty hard on my laptops so it would have gotten some scratches within a few months anyways. For those that are experiencing "keyboard" issues, it's due to the tablet disconnecting from the base some. If you adjust the screen to hard or pick it up from the screen, it will sometimes weaken the connection. I suggest to disconnecting it and putting it back together. Seems to be working for me. Overall, I really love this laptop. For sure an upgrade for me. However, due to the issues that everyone else is having with batteries, my dead pixel, etc, I would NOT recommend buying. However, it is very difficult to find this model with the i5 and SSD that is not refurbished, and it is NOT Newegg. I'm right between 3-4 stars. I went to 4 because I do think it is good for what you are buying, and you should understand that. It is a refurbished laptop and will have some issues. However, thankfully I haven't had the issues others have faced or it would be much less. I hope my review helps!!

Not what it says

Rosewill RTCG-TN450V2 Compatible Toner Cartridge (Replaces OEM Brother TN-450, TN-420) 2,600 Pages Yield, Black
Rosewill RTCG-TN450V2 Compatible Toner Cartridge (Replaces OEM Brother TN-450, TN-420) 2,600 Pages Yield, Black

Pros: Cheap.... Lower priced than the Brother one. Got an extra discount due to buying it at the same time I got the printer

Cons: Wow... Did not even make 600 pages.... Probably not even 400 pages and it's out. Going to do some research tonight and see if maybe it's a setting etc. I will throw it one small bone... I leave this printer in my car to use on site for employee enrollments, and it might have dried up some due to the heat... That's all I can think that MIGHT have caused it to not reach 2,000 pages or more.

3+ years and still rocking

CORSAIR Vengeance 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin PC RAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model CMZ8GX3M2A1600C9
CORSAIR Vengeance 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin PC RAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model CMZ8GX3M2A1600C9

Pros: Bought this 3+ years ago and thought I would write a review for it. Still working with no issues whatsoever. Thinking about adding another 8gb to my I5 crossfire platform... Use it mainly for movies so not a huge deal having 8GB yet.

Cons: Wasn't free?
