My choice for "Spider" build

ASUS M3A78-T AM2+/AM2 AMD 790GX HDMI ATX AMD Motherboard
ASUS M3A78-T AM2+/AM2 AMD 790GX HDMI ATX AMD Motherboard

Pros: hybrid x-fire, 128mb ddr3 1333 on board IGP, fiber optic, and (for those of you who gripe about it on other 790gx boards) firewire.

Cons: BIOS's are always choppy and bad when new. I've been reviewing this and other 790gx boards and all have current "bad" BIOS's. The thing is that I trust ASUS will get a good one (they already have) available.

Overall Review: I literally spent over 48 hours doing research between the biostar-tforce-790gx, the foxconn 790gx and this board. not only does this board have better features (128mb ddr3, fiber optic, 3xpci-16x, firewire) but its what AMD actually uses for its "Spider" builds. If you're indecisive on a 790gx board TRUST ME I did all the reasearch and this is it. Also the combo w/ 9850BE is only $40 more than Biostar's and $20 more than Foxconns...well worth it

wont show up as 2 gigs

OCZ Reaper HPC 2GB (2 x 1GB) DDR2 1066 (PC2 8500) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model OCZ2RPR1066A2GK
OCZ Reaper HPC 2GB (2 x 1GB) DDR2 1066 (PC2 8500) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model OCZ2RPR1066A2GK

Pros: heat sinks, look cool and cost less than other 1066

Cons: ok, so i fixed the whole 667/1066 problem in bios but my system only sees 1790 mb

Overall Review: is this common? anyone know a fix? or did i just get bad ram

by far the best eee for the $

ASUS Eee PC 900 black Linux NetBook Intel processor 8.9" Wide SVGA 1GB Memory 20GB SSD Integrated Graphics
ASUS Eee PC 900 black Linux NetBook Intel processor 8.9" Wide SVGA 1GB Memory 20GB SSD Integrated Graphics

Pros: This thing handles Vista (vlite) better than my 1.6Ghz lappy. keyboard isnt bad (im on it now). waiting on 2nd gig but doubt i'll need it. boots vista in about 20 seconds. all drivers included in cd. NOT TO MENTION IT WAS ONLY $429! once i get my 8.9" touch screen this will be the envy of everyone.

Cons: gotta admit the keyboard takes some getting used to. Processor IS soldered to the board but anything bigger would be too hot. also u either need to be pretty good w/ iso's and flash-drives or get yourself an external dvd-drive.

Overall Review: GET IT. GET VLITE. GET VISTA (ppl who diss it dont know about vlite). GET 2nd GIG OF RAM........also it can play HL2! :-)
