So far, so good ...
Pros: Tools from WD website (did not bother with the CD, as per my usual) worked fine - copied all data and boot records from the older drive to the new drive, connected through a USB adapter. Took out the old drive, put in the new drive, and booted up - no sweat. (It's not always that easy ...)
Cons: None yet.
Overall Review: As usual, have your own cable and screws around. I have to second some who have said that packaging of this OE drive was poor: while it came in bubble wrap and styrofoam peanuts, ALL of the bubbles on one side of the drive were completely flat (!), and I had visions of how hard it had to have been dropped to accomplish that - but maybe they got popped in some other manner. Disconcerting, nonetheless ...
Buffalo Linkstation in Domain
Pros: Nothing worth mentioning. It works for basic features.
Cons: This unit may be fine for home use, although you still have the performance issues. But try to use this in a domain environment and good luck. Our first hurdle was the domain administrator password. It was too complex for the Buffalo drive to handle, so we had to create a dummy acct to get past this. The domain security tie-in does not work properly, and the web interface for configuring this is awful. So now we've had to lower our desired security settings to get it to work. I do not recommend this box in and office/domain setting. Really unhappy with it.
Overall Review: Good luck getting any support from these people.
So far, so good.
Pros: Good picture, good sound - according to folks on the other end for Skype sessions.
Cons: Haven't found a way to reduce the resolution on my end (to less than 1080/HD) to accommodate my friends living around the world with slow connections. This could be a Skype issue - not being able to throttle down my traffic to allow my other party more headroom.
Overall Review: Have had a bunch of cameras before - and all but these higher end Logitech's have been useless. I'll stick with them until they sell me a lemon - but I don't bottom feed and expect the world, either. You usually get what you pay for.
Some installation issues ...
Pros: Very good performance, no issues with existing (or new) boot OS. Nice BIOS options. Would add the last egg if it presents no problems long term - there is a design isue - see comments.
Cons: The con is an awareness issue, filed in the "bizarro" category. See below.
Overall Review: I returned the first MB (thank you/mea culpa, Newegg) thinking it was DOA. It showed no response with two different PS in a new case, so I figured it was dead. Got the second one quickly: still dead. So I did what I neglected to do the first time: put it on a cardboard box and connect it all up and fire it up: WORKED. I looked over the MB, and saw an aluminum heat sink/support underneath the processor area, protruding about 1/16th inch. Hmmm. I decided to take "final ownership" of the board, and I crazy glued (!) four black plumbing washers to gain some small clearance (1/32" or so), dropped it back in the case, and - no problems at all. So, in sum, just be sure this board isn't touching anywhere else than on the mounting posts in the case, or it plays possum. Otherwise, a great board so far, and great service from Newegg.
