Cheapest 42 inch around
Pros: Purchased for $550 with shipping. Nice. TV has a decent set of inputs, the menu is easy to use. The remote is easy to use, but basic. Arrived one day and packed really well - no chance of shipping damage. Best menu for changing inputs i have seen.
Cons: Due to the low price, cons did not affect my rating. It is more than I expected. When the room is dark and the screen is in letter box, the blacks are more dark grey. There is alot of light when the screen fades to black - unlikely energy star qualified. TV takes 7 seconds to turn on.
Overall Review: Get this TV. It doesn't make sense to pay double the price to get a 10 percent improvement in picture quality.
I expected better
Pros: No effort to setup drivers in vista. Windows update recognized it. The price is right. Two cards in one and uses the almost useless PCI-E x1 slot. It does not use alot of resources, but I have not recorded one show while watching another yet. If you like having a TV on while you surf the net. This may be a good fit. I have not had a TV card before so I can't be too excited that this card isn't as horrible as the rest.
Cons: It can not handle any movement what so ever. Looking for suggestions on alternative drivers. I have only hooked up to cable. I have not tryed over the air HD yet. Software it comes with is poor on Vista, but works with Media center fine. This is more of a novelty for me. Not decent enough picture quality to use often or hook up to a larger screen.
Overall Review: Setup - Vista, 1.86 ghz E6300 Core 2 Duo, 2 gigs memory, ATI Radeon HD 3650 512MB video card. 4.9 Windows experience Index. **Looking for a better driver or suggestions to help the card handle motion better.
Works Well
Pros: The price. New Memory recognized right away.
Cons: Only one side has heat spreader
Overall Review: I had 2 gigs Super Talent. I thought I was buying the same sticks. The new ones only had heat spreader on one side. I is likely a good thing since side by side it might be a tight fit/loose the point of a heat spreader when they touch each other.
