Most Critical Review

First Unit: DOA

ENERMAX Revolution D.F. 650W 80 Plus Gold 650W, Full Modular, Multi Rail, 7 Year Warranty, Power Supply, ERF650AWT
ENERMAX Revolution D.F. 650W 80 Plus Gold 650W, Full Modular, Multi Rail, 7 Year Warranty, Power Supply, ERF650AWT

Pros: -- Heavy, solid, feels high quality -- Fully modular design is super flexible and clean -- Connections happen with a satisfying click -- Cool cloth back included for all the cables you're not using -- Highest rated multi-rail PSU from PSU Cultists ratings

Cons: -- First unit was DOA. We'll see how the RMA goes, then update this review -- Enermax website pulls up in all Chinese -- No forum to discuss with other owners/users -- No chat function with support, seems they're eager to get you into their RMA process

Overall Review: I'm hoping and expecting that we're just unlucky, that this is just one of the inevitable lemons among a batch of anything manufactured. We shall see how the RMA process goes, I love how New Egg makes it so simple and even pays for the return shipping. I just hate the waiting. This unit is literally the highest-rated PSU in the "A" tier in the "PSU Cultists" ratings list, so I'm eager to get a fully functional unit in our high-end system (R5 5600X, RTX 3060 Ti FE). CAUTION: The "DF" in this product means "Dust Free", because you can press a button, at any time you want to, that will reverse the fan for 10 seconds to shake off accumulated dust. IF YOU INSTALL THIS PSU FAN-SIDE-UP--WHICH WE WANTED TO DO TO PROVIDE ADDITIONAL COOLING FOR THE CASE--AND YOU PRESS THAT D.F. BUTTON, IT WILL SPEW THAT DUST INTO YOUR SYSTEM. So either never press that button (which is temptingly sticking out right next to the power switch), or install it fan-side down where you can use the D.F switch to your heart's content.

NOT compatible with LGA 1700 without separate mounting kit

be quiet! 250W TDP Dark Rock Pro 4 CPU Cooler with Silent Wings - PWM Fan - 135 mm LGA 1700 Compatible

Pros: - High quality materials and manufacture - Clear organization of parts - Decent paper instructions - Clear YouTube installation videos

Cons: - We nearly broke our brand new Gigabyte Z690 LGA 1700 motherboard trying to get the bracket to fit, before finally giving up and learning the hard way that... - The bequiet Dark Rock Pro 4 Is NOT compatible with LGA1700 (Alder Lake) without a separate mounting kit - Nowhere in the NewEgg order process is the requirement separate mounting kit mentioned - Nowhere in the packaging or installation instructions is LGA1700 compatibility or instructions mentioned, which is why we turned to YouTube, where we were excited to find a bequiet-produced video with a section specifically for LGA 1700 installation instructions, but... - Nowhere in bequiet's own install video for the Dark Rock Pro 4 for LGA1700 is it mentioned that a separate mounting kit is required, only adding to our frustration as we tried in vain to follow the step-by-step instructions - We only learned about the separate mounting kit by watching several other video reviews for this cooler and looking into the notes and comments below the video, where a link to a very specific page on the bequiet website explained the need for the mounting kit for LGA 1700 - To get the mounting kit I had to complete an online form, which included uploading a proof of purchase for both the cooler and a compatable motherboard (this should've been taken care of while I was checking out at NewEgg) - I now have to wait for up to TWO WEEKS to have the mounting kit arrive so I can (hopefully) finish my build - This cooler is HUGE - Will not work with high-profile RAM, which must fit under this huge cooler

Overall Review: Despite what the title of this product listing claims, this cooler is not compatible with LGA 1700 out of the box, and both NewEgg and bequiet miss every opportunity to convey exactly how it can become compatible or take steps to help LGA 1700 user. The separate mounting kit for LGA 1700 should have been included in the first place. I'll update this review later, if I can, once I have a chance to actually use the cooler...

Worked great for 91 days...

NewNow U20 High Capacity 20800mAh External Battery Portable 1A & 2A Dual USB Charger Backup Power Bank

Pros: - Battery level display - Huge battery capacity (I needed it daily) - Double output USB was very useful for road trips.

Cons: - Didn't come with a user's manual, took me a while to figure out the flashlight feature - Something happened to the charging port, it won't let me charge it anymore

Overall Review: I loved this product and used it all day every day. Sad it sopped working for me just after the return policy deadline :(

Fast, but has problems

Ineo I-NA320U PLUS USB 3.0 to SATA III Hard Drive Docking Station for 2.5-inch & 3.5-inch SSD & HDD [Supports 4TB+]

Pros: Quality build, fast transfers (90 MB/sec for me). Computer recognizes drives right away and treats them as if they were connected directly to the motherboard.

Cons: Biggest problem: It randomly disconnects and reconnects. It hasn't happened during an intense video transfer, which would be a big problem for me, but it disconnects/reconnects often enough it appears to be only a matter of time before it happens at a very bad time. Other problems: --Drives keep spinning even if you turn the computer off that it's docked to. --VERY short USB 3.0 cable. I had to purchase extensions. --Fat adapter takes up valuable space on my UPS. --No fan, and the drives get hot.

Overall Review: I put the dock on the top of my computer where one of my case fans could blow on it to keep it cool. Don't know if the disconnect/reconnect issue has to do with the dock or the motherboard, I guess it's possible that it could be the motherboard and not the dock. I've got it connected directly to an ASRock Z77 Extreme4.
