Terrible

GIGABYTE Radeon R9 290 4GB GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 Video Card GV-R929OC-4GD
GIGABYTE Radeon R9 290 4GB GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 Video Card GV-R929OC-4GD

Pros: Runs well when it works, otherwise is a paperweight.

Cons: So I tried posting this on the card page for my Gigabyte Radeon HD 7950 3GB WF3 GPU, but the company KNOWS about the inherent problems with the card and won't respond. Basically, the card has a known over voltage problem which causes an electronic whine noise at high FPS, computer crash-restarts, frequent BSODs, and in general just terrible performance. Not to mention the voltage is locked, so you can't even solve the problem yourself. Even with voltage control maxed out the problems persist. I've flashed every viable BIOS under the sun to this card and it simply refuses to work reliably. I'm never purchasing a Gigabyte product ever again.

Defective and they know it

GIGABYTE Radeon HD 7950 3GB GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x16 CrossFireX Support Video Card GV-R795WF3-3GD
GIGABYTE Radeon HD 7950 3GB GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x16 CrossFireX Support Video Card GV-R795WF3-3GD

Pros: Powerful card, and able to run most games on high-ultra settings... for a bit

Cons: This card has a KNOWN voltage defect where the GPU emits a high-pitched electrical whine when running even the most basic games, resulting in computer BSODs, crash-restarts, display driver failures, artifacting on even just the Windows desktop, and even an inability to play YouTube videos without completely nerfing the system (mp4 decoder is run through the GPU). I have found a ton of other people online who have had these exact same problems and not a one of them has been able to solve it. I RMAd this card once because I suspected it was at fault, but when I got it back and the problems persisted, I went ahead and systematically RMAd every part in my computer trying to find the root cause. Now I'm down over $150 in just SHIPPING costs for the various RMAs, and nowhere closer to solving the problem. If Gigabyte truly did replace my card, then the problems are inherent and this card is an absolute brick. I need my rig for my work, and this paperweight has set me back months and hundreds of dollars. Never buying Gigabyte products ever again.
