Great motherboard
Pros: PCI-E 5.0 DDR5
Cons: Bios could have been a bit more mature at launch to reduce boot times.
Overall Review: Install was smooth, no real issues. Initial boot time was long as expected. I had a couple of blue screens after Windows first installed, but none since. Figured it was an update Windows needed. Good news is that the latest bios (0809) has reduced boot times and smoothed out the boot process with less fan noise and less ramping up of the system itself. I am glad I purchased the new Ryzen 7700x and this board.
Works great out of the box
Pros: Easy setup Great upgrade from an older monitor Nice specs for the price
Cons: None at this time
Overall Review: I bought this for my father in law for his 70th birthday. He had an older 32" 60hz monitor with gigantic speakers on the side, so this is a huge upgrade for him. It was really easy to setup, looked great once hooked up, and only took a few moments to set the LED color and turn on Freesync. Normally I would spend half an hour locking in brightness, contrast, etc. but really to the naked eye it was pretty good. My father in law loved it, so I figured I wouldn't mess with it. I would say that if you are upgrading from an older monitor and budget conscious over having the best, then this would fit the bill.
Great laptop at this price
Pros: Quad core processor Very little bloat installed Nvidia 645M Plays current games 16GB Max RAM capacity SATA3 Future upgrade paths (RAM, SSD) to improve performance
Cons: These are more "things to be aware of" than cons, since it is not a high-end laptop: Screen quality average, viewing angle poor Lack of lighted keyboard 1366x768 resolution 5400 RPM drive
Overall Review: I'm really pleased with the purchase, and would do so again. It's a nice build quality and a sturdy laptop without too much weight. There is some give and take here with what you get in the specs of the machine, but the price bears that out. I like having a laptop that finally has the ability to run games. A great option for those who want mobile gaming without the high price tag (or a second option for those with a power desktop setup).
Great RAM for the price
Pros: Speedy Stable Large amount of RAM
Cons: None at the moment
Overall Review: Glad I purchased this RAM. Less expensive than the Corsair. Seems well built and solid. Would purchase this RAM again if I had another computer to put it in!
Works great
Pros: Ran first time out of the box Easy setup with XMP No BSOD's running games
Cons: Not well known - Hard to decide if it was the right memory choice
Overall Review: I was considering either GSkill or Corsair for my memory upgrade, as they are the two brands that I have used in the past and many seem to trust. I decided to go a bit budget and see how these Patriot's would do in my system, based on the number of reviews of the other brands (Gskill, Corsair) that mentioned difficulty in getting them to run at the rated speeds. I am happy to report that these Patriot's ran at 2000mhz with a simple bios setting toggle (XMP profile), and the timings were recognized right off the bat. Have passed with flying colors with all the tasks I have thrown at it, be it gaming or otherwise. A great deal overall. Perhaps there are better performing memory modules, but these fit my needs well.
Nice Case...
Pros: Great look - Easily accessible interior - Very quiet case
Cons: Hard to get 5 1/4 drives into their slots - Heavy - Only one fan included
