Works well with new WiFi card
Pros: Good price for the CPU and GPU speed (all experience values but HDD in Win7 are from 6.9 to 7.3). Good screen for the price. Large keyboard and 5 or 6 speakers in its large body. Fingerprint reader can work from BIOS and transfers its result to Windows (double-password/single-finger protection)
Cons: WiFi card should be replaced, may not start after sleep or will recover for a few minutes after any suspend, and may totally freeze the computer (restart only by the power switch), if you do not wait for its readiness. Hard drive is slow (5.7 in Win7). The lowest-end camera looks strange above such monitor. Sound could be decent with better speakers installed. All 4 memory slots are full. I did not find any tuning for the fingerprint reader sensitivity/security
Overall Review: I spend 15.99 on N 6200, and now WiFi network is always ready, wakes up before I can enter a password or move a finger on a reader. 300Mb/s, and control by built-in software and a button is even better than with original one. I think to try a SSD as a boot/Windows drive in the second position.
It is d-Link - dead as expected
Pros: Worked for a few months
Cons: I was out of home for less than two days, and upon return has found that my living room switch (connected to a media PC, blue ray player, Dishnetwork) is not connecting anymore. I was disappointing. When I disconnected it to replace with a spare (a have three more "green" gigabit switches active in my house, and had one extra unit), I was surprised to see it was a D-Link. I did not use D-Link products anymore, I do not remember any of them were working - switches were dead, wifi was loosing signal and routes were loosing computers, and even power supplies on D-links were not powering those. Perhaps I did a mistake somehow, or receive it instead of a real product. Thus, one more peace of trash from the same brand. Other switches are not D-Links, they are working and will work.
Overall Review: In part, it is my mistake, I knew well that D-Link will not work. It is in a deserved place now - landfill.
Basic long range accesory
Pros: Inexpensive. Small/slim size. Some of them are not defective. Easy to connect (with any Windows). Does not show telephone/WiFi problems. Good range (I tested up to 20 ft in the same room), acceptable for for HTPC with a big monitor (such as 63" TV)
Cons: Many of then do not work upon arrival (i had one), and many brake soon, and Newegg is not as good as better sellers in returning. Is not for real typing and "mousing", but can be used as a simple set for in occasional use.
Overall Review: With the listed price and operation range, it is difficult to find another replacement. And, for the price, no one should expect a smooth typing, or a convenient mouse shape. Since it brakes, it is better to by from a place with better return polices than at NewEgg, or lower prices. Also, only time will show, can it survive for a reasonable time, and how quickly the batteries will deplete.
