Pros: Keeps CPU very cool.
Cons: Noticeably louder then my previous CPU fan. Can hear it from 2 rooms away.
Overall Review: I give it 4 eggs because it does a good job keeping the CPU cool and has been reliable. I didn't give it 5 because of how loud it is.
Pros: Fast enough processor for the average user. I haven't tried it on Windows 8 yet, but word was that starting with Windows 8, Microsoft was going to make changes that would improve the performance of the AMD processors on Windows 8 PC's. Also, higher clock speeds then the Phenom II.
Cons: For the money, the Phenom II X4 is a better buy. In my opinion, for the average user; you will get better overall performance by using the money you saved with the Phenom and putting it towards an SSD drive.
Overall Review: I find it funny that 2 of the reviews I read that gave it only 1 egg because it didn't have 8 full cores. One labeled themselves as PCTech. Really PCTech? Didn't know it didn't have 8 full cores? In simplistic terms it has the equivalent of 4 full cores and 4 partial cores. So depending what apps you run will determine weather or not the partial cores are useful. That is why I say for average user money better spent on Phenom II X4. It does give you higher clock speeds then Phenom so it should out perform the X4 to some degree. But is it enough for the average user to notice? Probably not.
Pros: Has always worked with no issues including the lightscribe feature.
Cons: None.
Pros: Very fast and reliable.
Cons: None.
Overall Review: At the time the price was great, but now there are better options for the price you would pay for this processor.
Pros: Seems like better performance then the A4, A6, A8 series AMD processors.
Cons: I had some timing issues with my motherboard, memory and this processor.
Overall Review: I had some timing issues with my motherboard, memory and this processor that I didn't have with another Phenom II X4 processor, but once I worked that out it was ok. I put it in another system and had same issue that I didn't have with another Phenom II X4. Since I've only used on of this particular model processor, I couldn't say if it was the individual processor or the model in general.
Pros: It never failed in over 2 years.
Cons: None really.
Overall Review: I wouldn't purchase it for a performance improvement.
