Most Critical Review

Not what was advertised

ASUS Desktop PC K30AD-US003O Pentium G3240 (3.1 GHz) 4 GB DDR3 1 TB HDD Intel HD Graphics Shared memory Windows 7 Home Premium 64-Bit
ASUS Desktop PC K30AD-US003O Pentium G3240 (3.1 GHz) 4 GB DDR3 1 TB HDD Intel HD Graphics Shared memory Windows 7 Home Premium 64-Bit

Pros: Probably going to work OK for me

Cons: The description from Newegg said the back of the housing had 4 USB 2.0 ports and 2 USB 3.0 ports, plus 2 USB 3.0 ports on the front on the front. Unfortunately, the back has only 3 USB ports, not 6 as advertised, and none are blue indicating USB 3.0. The two USB ports on the front are blue indicating USB 3.0.

Overall Review: This computer was purchased because my old computer crashed, so I do need to take the drive out of the old computer and get files off that old drive. Unfortunately this ASUS computer has a label over the cover saying that I will void the warranty if I remove the cover, thus they are effectively saying I should not try to connect the old drive to recover files. Hmmmm, guess which way I will go !!

Pros: Worked great, but only for about 2 weeks. Not much of a "Pro".

Cons: After about two weeks it started to intermittently not boot when the computer did. Sometimes re-running the installation disk would work, but only sometimes. Then I read some of the other reviews, and noticed info about connecting it to a SATA power supply. Went back to the installation directions, and didn't see anything about connecting a power supply other than the motherboard, but when I opened the computer case, and sure enough, there was a SATA connector on the board. I connected a SATA power source to it, and after reinstaling the driver, it worked, but for only 1 boot. It hasn't worked since.
