This card sounds "sweet as good honey.".
Pros: Doesn't overburden your cpu with its power cord input. Wonderful hassle-free setup. I was pleasantly surprised with the controlled crisp sound quality with both active bookshelf speakers and good headphones.
Cons: Sound has a little short pop sound that comes out of speakers or headphones when Win 7 64 boots up. I think it's due to my overclocking. However it's not that loud at all, and I'm used to it. It's not really a con to me, but may be for some that boot up everyday.
Overall Review: I really didn't expect it to be worthy to be herald in the "hifi" territory because for the price when compared to other options that I have tried I find this card to be a downright bargain.
Nice Plextor on the cheap.
Pros: Fast, stable, pretty quiet read and write speeds. Like the glossy black finish.
Cons: Nothing that I can think of.
I really like it.
Pros: Good construction and quality for the price. Setup took about 40 minutes.
Cons: Setup was a little bit awkward for one person. But got the job done.
Danish minimalism designed style. Lush and vivid sound.
Pros: Nice packaging. Good fit and feel. They come with two sets of earpads for comfort and different ear shapes and sizes. Work very well with a good sound card, and work well with a decent or good portable player. Musical rich sound that gets better the more time that you put on to them.
Cons: I've read these cans can take some heavy break-in time for optimal sound quality, depending on the source. I am using an Asus Xonar Essence XT feeding off from a nice midrange pc setup. - Don't know if they make better quality versions of these straight, mic, and coiled cords. But I am a cable nut. I would be on it if there would ever would be, though the included cord is good for stock.
Overall Review: Nice packaging. Nice locking cord (mine came with the coiled version with no mic cable for 199.99 total final statement from third party seller for these cans) Good fit and feel. They come with two sets of earpads that are very easy to change out. One set is cloth and then one is a leather version which came pre-installed. Cloth version reminds me more of the Grado Labs feel. Wearing leather pads with no discomfort for hours. Pads can also be rotated with the aligned pad plugs that are included for difference ear shapes/sizes. (notice the separation of the plugs for a balanced fit. -After about 30 hours of break in I am already hearing a very nice and smooth midrange, articulate highs, and controlled and more quickly timed bass. Work very well with a good sound card, and work well with a decent or good portable player (think Cowon, Samsung, Sony Z series etc.) And do a pretty decent job on a quality portable cd player (I use 2 aged Panasonic and Lenoxx Sound models.
