Gaming on the Go?
Pros: It's an all around good, solid laptop, and a pretty sleek look. The screen as well is magnificent. Battery life Is around an hour forty five, but that's expected with a higher end machine. Games Crysis rather well. The little camera and mic are nice. Mouse pad is smooth and responsive. Probobly the best cost to performance laptop you could buy. Oh, and it has The Republic of Gamers on it with pretty blue lights:)
Cons: Well, it attracts a lot of EVERYTHING. Not too big of a deal. That, and the cd drive, on mine atleast, is rather noisy. Still works, but noisy. Otherwise I find myself wondering if I should have spent less on a netbook for school, and dumped the extra into my desktop. Nah, gaming on the go. Speakers kind of suck, on the bass side. But I didn't expect it to have much for speakers. They are good for communication, otherwise like most people do anyways, just grab some headphones.
Overall Review: I don't use the battery much, becuase in our modern world there's power just about everywhere. The gtx 260m, a beautiful card, really pumps the heat. That's normal for a high end card though, and the fan ramps up when necessary automaticaly so the card stays fairly cool. Makes a great hand warmer.
My friends want it.
Pros: Best micro case I've seen, or used. Well built, well laid out, clean looks, the buttons ports are right on top, fan controls work well, on/off button on back for fan lights, big mesh side that will take a 200mm fan, and without still gives great air flow/looks. I like to see my parts I spend so much money on too. AND, the mesh sticks out a little. The extra inch and a half or so of width is fantastic. AND DA HANDLE! Some people don't like handles, so take it off, but it's not only apart of the looks of the case, but it works great. It's sturdy, and makes it so I can carry my whole computer in one trip. Keyboard, mouse, etc in a back pack, monitor under one arm, and case in the other. No more second trip! Huzzah! As long as you don't take it into battle and use it as a mace, or fill your case with lead bricks, it gets the job done. My system isn't water cooled, so I'm not sure how much weight a setup would add, but the handle feels sturdy enough to handle it. The handle, handles it. My friends are all jealous. Now that they've seen this case they all want it, but because they don't want to be copy cats with the same case they can't have it!
Cons: If you bought another micro case, you'll wish you bought this one.
Overall Review: It's got all the little holes for water cooling if you ever get the urge to go full Super Sayan. System: 4670K Gtx 670 4gb Kingwin Lazer 1000 watt ASrock Z87M Extreme OCZ Revo Drive x4 230 gb
They work, They're RAM
Pros: They worked right out of the box, plugged them in, they run at 2400 as advertised, and they're cheap! Their heat sinks are fairly compact as well, and look good!
Cons: None
Overall Review: Should have bought another set. System: 4670K This Ram- 8gb gtx 670 4gb ASrock Z87M extreme 4 Revo Drive x4 230gb
A little Overkill
Pros: It works, it was pretty inexpensive for a well built 1000 watt power supply. It's quiet! The lights are snazzy, and if you don't like them, you can turn them off. Wish it had an orange setting so it matched my case fans. I knew that buying it though!
Cons: None
Overall Review: I could have bought an 850 watt and had plenty of headroom, but I bought a 1000 watt. Never hurts to have more if you ever need it though! Kinda wish all the crystal cube connector slots lit up even if they weren't in use just to give it a more uniform look. But not a biggie.
Not bad for the price
Pros: Pretty Fast and good Price/GB. With a little technical know how it's easy to install windows too.
Cons: Not quite as fast as I thought it would be. I'm getting sequential reads around 450 MB/s, and writes only around 130 MB/s. I'm not quite sure if it's the drive, or the motherboard. It's currently installed in a pci-e 2.0 slot, and every thing setting wise seems to be correct. I've also updated the firmware/drivers. However, there's a slight possibility I've missed something and it's not the drive so I'm not going to dock an egg for it. Also, on cold boots, after the computer has been completely disconnected from power, the drive isn't recognized. Again, I'm not sure if it's the mobo or the ssd, but on the first restart it recognizes the drive and boots fine.
Overall Review: For a refurbished, inexpensive drive, I can't really complain. If it lasts as long as it's supposed to I'll be more than happy with it. I bought it more from a reliability/lifespan point anyways. System: 4670K -Waiting to be Overclocked 8 GB DDR3 @ 2400 GTX 670 Superclocked 4gb ASrock Z87M Extreme 4 RevoDrive 230GB -OS Drive
So far so good.
Pros: It's a quick drive with a decent amount of space. Built like a tank too. Runs vista with a 2.44 ghz intel quad great. I've had some five programs installing on it at once as well. So far, so good.
Cons: Honestly I had some trouble formatting it with Vista ultimate. I installed the new drive, hooked up all the sata connections, and fired up the pc. Mind you the computer had a previouse drive. Windows loaded normally and I got up to the blue screen for Vista. Then it froze. It took me a whole lot of trial and error, but, eventually I figured out how to get it working. By opening and closing my cd drive it would load the next screen, then freeze. So I did that about a hundred times and it worked. Old playstation trick. All in all I formatted the drive, reset some things on the board for Vista. Such as 64 bit drivers, and she went full steam. Runs great now. And wow, what a heavy drive. Sturdy I supose.
Overall Review: Great drive. I think for the price and size it is one of the more reliable drives out there. And in the end, if it don't work it don't matter how many gigs it has. I will aslo say in the con section that it was most likely my mobo that was complaining about the new drive:)
