Same price as a 550
Pros: Single 6 pin connection, Averages about 12.7K PPD on folding at home, Same price as a 550 ti for better the performance what is not to like.
Cons: A little bit louder than my 550 was but the 550 could only ramp up to 72% fan while this one will ramp up to 95% under full load of folding.
Overall Review: I bought this to replace a 550 Ti that the cat knocked off the counter and broke the PCB when I was cleaning the giant dust bunnies inside the case. I noticed only an extra 15 watts pull from the wall over my 550. I use this card primary for folding, but every now and then I will open solidedge for the laser cutter, and I dont knotice any perforance hits or increases.
Fair Unit
Pros: Small Form factor Smokes an e-350D there is a night and day difference in the power and speed between these two processors. Quite, I drove the processor at 100% for month and I couldn't hear it and it didn't break 55C, but I didn't have it in a case. Doesn't need an SSD to feel speedy, but it dose help.
Cons: Limited pci-e slot (only for video cards, loss of one egg) No vista drivers, but there are XP drivers there I couldn't get the USB 3.0 to work but that may be on my end since I have 3 computers with USB 3.0 and none of them work.
Overall Review: Bought this to drive my 780 for folding at home, it doesn't require a full 16X pci-e slot for this type of operation, All I could get out of it was about 90% utilization, so I went back to my X6. An E-350D would only get me about 82% utilization. It would be great for an daily computer that used email, and internet and some older games from the early 2000, but for an home server since there is only two Sata ports and the pci-e cannot be used to expand I would suggest else ware.
Great for SMP
Pros: Processor is used for SMP for folding at home. Gets about 10K PPD depending on the work unit. Stays about 47C on a test bench when its about 36C in the room under full load with some cheap generic cooler. Video encoding I didn't notice a difference between this and my 1090T, but then again I wasn't really paying attention.
Cons: None that I can think of.
Overall Review: I did not overclock this processor because the board that it is a little iffy. So I guess that is a con on my part. Also please remember that this is an OEM processor and that it will not come with a heat sink.
