Worth every penny
Pros: Solid memory with heat spreaders that are not too tall. I was able to overclock these quite a bit, awesome Samsung B-die memory works very well. I tried at various clock speeds using DRAM Calculator 1.7 (4000, 3866, 3733, 3600) and the best results for me were to set them at 3600MHz, CL14 at 1.38v. I followed all the DRAM Calculator settings for 'Fast' timings and it worked like a champ in my MSI X570 MPG Gaming motherboard. YMMV
Cons: Can't think of too many. Guess I wish it were cheaper, but not complaining for the performance I was able to achieve
Overall Review: Highly recommend, especially if you can get these on sale. Forget about using 4000MHz CL19 speeds. Even though that is fast, you can do better - much better. Start with that timing from the XMP profile, but then tune these to run much faster by doing some research online and put in some time to tune and test them. Worth it!
Roll the dice, lose more than you win
Pros: Price was good, Newegg service was excellent (as always). When these drives work they are fast and great additions to any PC/laptop
Cons: I ordered 2 of these drives. One worked perfectly from day one. The other drive failed on Win7 install and then disappeared from BIOS and was unrecoverable no matter what I tried. Then, I returned and got the same experience with 3 more drives. Only on the 5th drive did I get one that was recognized and would take OS loading and run properly. Needless to say, the savings were quickly peed away with drive #2.
Overall Review: If I had it to do over again I would not buy a refurbished SSD. You are rolling the dice to see if you get a good one or not. I have had success with another OCZ refurb SSD (80gb Vertex 2), but all things considered it was not smart to gamble on these. You may have better luck, dunno.
Easy Plug n Play 3600 PC4 memory
Pros: Good value and performance. Plug in, boot up and set XMP in BIOS and it just works. Easy peasy
Cons: I had difficulty getting the timings much tighter than stock. I eventually gave up and just left the XMP timings, which are fine but I have found other brands that had more room to improve performance quite a lot from XMP settings. I did not take stars off for this, just mentioning for others benefit
Overall Review: Would definitely recommend if you are not into overclocking and pushing RAM timings. Easy setup and great price for what you are getting
Great CPU - should have a cooler included
Pros: Does what it is supposed to do and does it very well at low TDP.
Cons: Why there is no cooler included is beyond me. This CPU does not run that hot unless you are maxing it out at the stock voltage (which is too high in my opinion). Lower voltage will bring temps down to where a stock OEM cooler is fine. CPU's that should not come with OEM cooler are more like the Threadripper series, not a Ryzen 7
Overall Review: Would recommend this to anyone for gaming or general computing. Only users that need more are those doing heavy rendering or other very CPU intensive tasks
Works great, smooth install
Pros: Excellent cooling for VRMs, lots of ports on back of motherboard, good user manual, great packaging with lots of foam padding. BIOS is pretty standard and there are plenty of options for overclocking, undervolting and other customization if that is your thing. FYI - I have found that AMD CPU's have very high voltage by default. You can reduce the volts in BIOS and it will still be very stable and reduces heat generation tremendously. My 5800X runs cool on a stock OEM CPU cooler from a 5600X I had sitting around with lower CPU voltage
Cons: I have not heard good things about ASRock's RGB software and on another motherboard I have it was buggy. Have not tried it on this motherboard yet, so can't say for sure
Overall Review: Got this on sale and it was a wonderful value at the price I paid ($139). It looks to be out of stock now but if you can get it that cheap, go for it. You won't be disappointed.
Love this case, excellent value
Pros: - RGB lights work well, the remote is a nice touch as well - Plenty of room for large video cards and ATX motherboards - Cable management was a breeze - Cooling is actually quite good (as you would expect from 4 x 120mm fans) - Fan controller also a nice touch for the price - 3 speeds
Cons: - Proprietary RGB hub, cannot tie in with motherboard (at least not that I can see), probably not a problem as the remote can program easier than BIOS or an application from the motherboard manufacturer. However, if you also have RGB RAM or other components, then you have to manage them separately
Overall Review: I would buy again, especially if you can get it on sale. Remains to be seen if it will last but so far it is a very good buy in my book
