Pros: Great price for so much power, really is the sweet spot for price/performance. This card is primarily used for the folding@home project, with some gaming as well. This card runs about 170k-200k ppd for folding@home. The main game I play is MechWarriorOnline which is on the Crysis engine, no other games have been tested yet. MWO runs on HIGH with 1920x1080 at 85-100FPS depending on map and number of mechs and weapons fire on screen. Crysis does use the CPU a lot as well, I am using an i7 4770k with no overclock yet on a ASUS Z87 Deluxe with 8GB of Corsair Vengeance at 1600.
Cons: Not really a strong Con, but something to note. I did not install any control software for the card initially, just let it run in default at first to break it in. The primary use of this card is for the folding@home project with Stanford, so it was running at 100% load for days on end. I thought the fan was amazingly quiet, assuming that it would automatically adjust for load and temp. Turns out it does not. At full load the fan was locked at it's lowest setting. The card was still under 80c but there's no reason for that. Installed the control software from EVGA and set the fan to 70% speed (at 100% speed it sounds like a jet turbine but it does put the card at 35c or so at full stress load LOL).READ FULL REVIEW
This review is from: Patriot LX Series 32GB Class 10 Micro SDHC Flash Card Model PSF32GMCSDHC10
Pros: Reasonable cost for a Class 10 of this size, works great with no errors or lost data. Patriot is a name with a good reputation.
Other Thoughts: Been using this in my GoPro HERO3 Black to record track days, after dealing with the buggy firmware in the GoPro the card works flawlessly recording full 1080p HD movies. Recently got another GoPro and will be ordering another of these cards to use in that.READ FULL REVIEW
This review is from: ASUS P8H61-M LE/CSM (REV 3.0) LGA 1155 Intel H61 Micro ATX Intel Motherboard
Pros: Inexpensive yet still loaded with features. Another quality ASUS product, worked out of the box, no issues. Got this for a friend's super budget build, paired with a G840 Sandy Bridge Pentium.
Cons: Only two fan headers, but, it is a Micro board. Not really a con per se, but, the box says "Works with Windows 7", however Windows 7 did not have any preloaded drivers for the LAN. Now, my copy of Win 7 is older, and it was easy enough to load the driver off the CD, but I just thought that was funny.
Other Thoughts: Something to consider, this is a Micro board, space is at a premium. I used the XIGMATEK HDT-SD964 as the heatsink and PNY XLR8 DDR3 RAM. The RAM could not be installed with the fan on the heatsink (with the fan facing forward). So be careful, if you will use RAM with tall fins or heat exchangers you will have to get creative with mounting a heatsink.READ FULL REVIEW
