Nixeus MODA Mechanical Keyboard (Brown Soft Tactile Switch) MK-BN14 Keyboard
  • neweggOwned For: 1 week to 1 month

5 out of 5 eggs Best Value KB, Bad Cap Puller 10/27/2014

This review is from: Nixeus MODA Mechanical Keyboard (Brown Soft Tactile Switch) MK-BN14 Keyboard

Pros: * Good key feel: light with a break and lots of post-activation travel.
* Tenkeyless: I do not use the number pad, and like to put my mouse in that area of the desk.
* Mute and Volume: Media keys are dedicated; rather then requireing cording keys with an "Fn" shift.
*USB: USB devices with a newer KVM system

Cons: * Not Quiet: Reviews had lead me to believe that "Brown" switches were quiet. The switches are quiet, but the sound of the key caps hitting the steel plate inside the keyboard is still a bit noisy.

* Key Cap height: The included blue key caps are taller then the caps they replace. It creates an odd feeling on the home row when the A/S/D keys are a little taller then the F key.

Other Thoughts: I've used a lot of mechanical keyboards in the past, and continue to use the IBM model M and the Kenisis Maxim. They both cost three to four times as much as the Nixeus MODA, and did not come with any extra keycaps or a pulling tool.

ASUS Radeon HD 7750 DirectX 11 HD7750-DCSL-1GD5 1GB 128-Bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x16 HDCP Ready Video Card
  • neweggOwned For: 1 day to 1 week

Pros: This card is 100% stable and cool in my system. It runs all mainstream games well. It gets airflow from a 120 mm fan that is about 20 cm (7.5 inches) away.

Cons: You may have to run reduced (720p, 768p) resolutions to get competitively smooth play in shooting games.

Uses the full-sized DisplayPort; Mini DisplayPort has more market penetration, due to Mini DisplayPort being used in laptops.

Other Thoughts: No mainstream games are beyond your reach with this card. The PC gaming industry is being held back by laptops being the majority of PC sales.

HIS Radeon HD 6570 DirectX 11 H657H1G 1GB 128-Bit DDR3 PCI Express 2.1 x16 HDCP Ready Low Profile Ready Video Card
  • neweggOwned For: 1 month to 1 year

Pros: Works with Linux and Windows 7 (both x64). It is plenty fast for WoW (World of Warcraft) at 1080p (Min. 28fps). Other games play well at "768p" or 720p.

Cons: Not as fast as the more expensive cards that make more noise. It can be too slow for the newest FPS, unless settings are lowered. Might be faster if it was not using slow & outdated DDR3 memory.

Other Thoughts: Currently the best budget fan-less card. I can watch reruns of my shows on one screen, while admiring myself in a webcam mirror on a second screen. All without fan noise.
