Pros: Perfect flawless working since last August .
Cons: It died after 8 1/2 months
Other Thoughts: This was a simple nice build,
1 Nvidia 980 gpu.
1 samsung 2tb ssd
1 seagate 2tb hdd
a 850 watt seasonic gold psu.
an asus dvd burner all in a corsair carbide case.
Build ran perfect for months then a blue screen
then it won't post no matter what I do.
I pull all parts off the mobo.
tested all parts with an asus mobo.
the intel 6600k cpu is not detected on the asus mobo but the asus mobo does detect my 6500k cpu.
So I have two possibilities the cpu died in the mobo at stock settings with a really good cooler on it. The mobo cpu socket surged and killed off the cpu. I am not putting in my 6500k cpu to test the mobo since the mobo if defective may kill off a second cpu. So I rma'd the mobo today sunday and now await an answer from gigabyte on the rma.
To give it 1 star is not fair as I am not sure if this is a defective cpu or a defective mobo.
When the new mobo gets back to me I will see if it runs the 'dead' 6600k cpu.
I hate troubleshooting and getting a result like this as risking 200 dollar cpu's to test a mobo is not something I want to do.
I will let newegg readers know how easy it is to rma this and my cost to do so. The postage at a minimum from New Jersey to California is about 16 usd.
I think a 3 is a fiar number since I did get use from it. But I think a fail like this is not acceptable. As no gear was overclocked. Cpu ran very cool as did all parts of the gear.
Pros: It is small and low cost.
Cons: Can't get it to work.
Other Thoughts: This is a newegg eggxpert review. I accepted it because I could use it with one of my mining pc's.
I am mining ETH coin on 3 different pc's one pc has the habit of dropping its internet connection 1 or 2 times a day.
I thought this could be more stabile. So far the driver won't load.
I will get back if I get it to work or if it never works.
Pros: I will state I am an Eggexpert reviewer. I am going to do a 24/7/365 stress test on this miner.
I am using it as a power supply for 2 mining machines for bitcoin and or peercoin. So far it is passing the tests.
Cons: After 1 week no cons.
Other Thoughts: my torture test is simple I am running an Avalon6 asic miner pulling 1100 watts at the wall. Jonnyguru tested his rm1000x at 996 watts dc and 1124 watts ac. he got 88.3% eff
I am doing 1034 watts dc and 1174 watts ac that is 88% eff and is beyond specs of this gear. which are 1000 watts dc.
I will run at 3 or 4 % over specced 12 volt rail load for a few weeks . So fat after a week we are good to go. pretty impressive.
A lot of gear can't quite reach spec this is over spec on the 12 volt rail. very smooth fan sound is okay.
So if you are whaling away on a game it should be pretty good. for any single gpu card on the market.
I will get back in a week to see if it holds up on the torture test.
