Almost perfect network swiss-army-knife

HooToo HT-TM04 TripMate Elite Versatile Wireless N Travel Router with 6000mAh Battery Charger
HooToo HT-TM04 TripMate Elite Versatile Wireless N Travel Router with 6000mAh Battery Charger

Pros: - Battery - 2 charging ports - Share files by USB port on router easily. - Has DLNA / SAMBA / Android/iPhone APP - Case - Easy to use interface (GUI) for configuring - Plug built-in

Cons: Advertised as having 'bridging' but this is only wireless to wireless, you can not connect a device to the lan port and provide it network access through this device. At least with the current firmware on it at the time of writing. This item boasts as being 'elite' but doesn't even have the same features available to other $20 nano router products (without the battery of course which is about $15-$20 value give or take).

Overall Review: Awesome device! Looks good, love the fact it can provide access to USB storage, DLNA and SAMBA access possibilities and the case is a classy touch. I like the fact it will run directly from battery without the need to be plugged in for a good period of time (assuming your not charging your phone or tablet with it at the same time). Multiple USB ports in case you want to charge and use use storage at the same time. While there is a lot to love about this device, there are also some shortcomings that it needs to overcome to truly deserve to be called 'Elite'. Mainly that it fails to offer one feature which I feel would fulfill this as the perfect wireless swiss-army-knife solution, and that is wired to wireless network bridging. While some of the other brands 'nano' products do not come with the awesome battery this things comes with, they do have this feature available to them stock. For this I deduct 1 star from its rating.

Cubieboard A10 (WITHOUT 4GB NAND)

BitCrane Cubieboard 1 Allwinner A10 SoC / Cortex-A8 1GHz CPU / 1GB RAM / MMC&SD Card Slot / Single Board Computer / DIY Kit
BitCrane Cubieboard 1 Allwinner A10 SoC / Cortex-A8 1GHz CPU / 1GB RAM / MMC&SD Card Slot / Single Board Computer / DIY Kit

Pros: - At the time of purchase this item was priced competitively to the Raspberry Pi B+ w/ faster CPU and Higher Memory ($30) - Item arrived quickly - Item worked as described

Cons: No 4GB NAND PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS ITEM DOES NOT COME WITH THE 4GB NAND. I knew this when purchasing and for $30 this was reasonable. Be aware you can buy the full un-crippled version of this item from a US retailer at only a few dollars more. Do not get tricked and think this is the full version of the board.

Overall Review: The reason I am only giving two stars: I was ready to buy more of these at the original sale price ($30). The seller and Newegg however conspired to rip customers off by removing the item from being available saying there was a 'glitch' to only bring the item back a week later adding $24.15 to the price making the price unrealistic for the crippled product. I contacted the buyer directly to see if I could purchase more at original price and they made up stories saying it would stay the same price and that Newegg would fix the issue faster than they could ship the item to me, so refused to sell me the product directly. The seller while lying to me in communications, was unfortunately working with Newegg to jack the price up.

Awesome for the price

iStarUSA BPU-230SATA-BPL 2 x 5.25" to 3 x 3.5" SAS / SATA 6.0 Gbps Hot-Swap Cage - Lockable
iStarUSA BPU-230SATA-BPL 2 x 5.25" to 3 x 3.5" SAS / SATA 6.0 Gbps Hot-Swap Cage - Lockable

Pros: 1. 3x3.5" drives in 2x5.25 space 2. Can use molex or SATA power connectors 3. Nice fan to keep drives cool 4. responsive LEDs on front to show usage 5. Easy to slide drives in and out (Ideal for Raid Arrays)

Cons: 1.Made of plastic, if this was used on a daily basis to change out drives I could see the drive lock braking and that could be annoying. 2. Fan can be a bit noisy (rather have cool drives than no fan though)

Overall Review: This is a great utility to have for the price paid on sale ($40), though I am not sure I would shell out the $60-$70 its been at in the past. Not quite sure its worth that much. If the front panel was made from metal and not plastic I could see a bit more value in it.

They lie to their customers

They lied and said that further items could not be purchased because there was a glitch with Newegg's system. In reality they had decided to change the price on the item and decided it was necessary to lie when I contacted them directly about the product. They told me the price would stay the same, instead the price has been increased by $24.15. While the product I did order was in perfect working order, after being lied to by the seller I do not think I would do business with them again.
