Pros: Overclocks better than my Haswell, it is about 15-20% faster clock for clock than a 4770k and also produces less heat.
Cons: availability at launch
Other Thoughts: If you want to get the maximum out of this processor make sure you get some pretty fast ram, I would say atleast DDR2800. In my case I tested with XMP off (2133mhz)then turned it on (3000mhz 15-17-17-35) there was about an additional 5-10% performance gain.
I haven't had a lot of time to overclock my chip yet, but I just bumped it up to 4.7ghz at stock voltage and had no trouble booting to windows, I'll definitely do further testing when I get back home. My haswell only hit 4.6ghz and that was with a lot of tuning.
I may have gotten one of the better chips out there though.
Pros: Matches my Titan Black although I can't see it under my NH-D14.
Other Thoughts: Not much to say about the memory other than I have had no issues with it, it's very stable, never had issues with it, works fine paired with my MSI MPOWER Z87.
I do wish I bought faster memory, but that's my issue and probably wouldn't notice a difference anyways.
Pros: - Build Quality (power design is really nice)
- Still well supported by MSI (frequent BIOS updates)
- Network Card, Ping times dropped in games by about 20% which is a lot for me having very little ping to begin with, the Network manager is easy to use and lets you manage bandwidth for each program
- Built in Headphone AMP (I personally don't use this, but I tested it and it was able to power my HD600s fine)
Overall all the board features are really solid, It's not necessary to ramble on about them.
Cons: Not really a con, but MSI's software is kind of clunky and annoying, but you can do without it if you wish, I still have Live Update installed just to let me know when driver updates are available, I do not use the software for installing them.
Other Thoughts: This motherboard is very stable and reliable, it's my first MSI motherboard and will probably not be my last. I bought this in June or July 2013 and have not ran into any issues with it, only a few very minor nitpicks. I have a 4670k overclocked to 4.4ghz 24/7 usage aircooled (NHD14), over all this is a really solid motherboard.READ FULL REVIEW
