This review is from: GARMIN 4.3" GPS Navigation
Pros: Displays current speed.
Good job on lane assist. Lane assists shows you what is going on a lot better than the voice prompts. For example, if there is a left exit and then ramp on left, voice will tell you ramp on right (so you avoid exit) which is confusing. The idea and implementation of Lane assist is good.
Can display additional trip info on the main screen. This unit has two main screen layouts. One is traditional and one is "More Information" which includes some more numbers about your trip.
Has Garmin offices pre-loaded in your favorites.
Cons: Screen feels a bit cheap. If you are wearing polarized sunglasses when driving, you might have screen view dimmed a bit. Just tilt your head to the left for perfect view.
Power wire is too thick, and just doesn’t follow the car profile, will keep the packaging bends for a while.
Windshield mount feels like it has suffered from some cost saving efforts. The wire goes straight to the unit, not to the mount, which means that to remove it (or put it back) is a two step process - remove unit from mount and disconnect the cable. So whenever your unit is not mounted, the cable will be just laying around the car. This also doesn’t help cable to mold its shape to the surface profile. Mounting and dismounting the unit is a two hand operation for me, I might improve in few months I hope.
No 3.5mm jack. This was a nasty surprise for me. I planed to use the AUX connection.
The cigarette lighter adapter fills slightly bulky.
All the cons didn't fit, see Other thoughts.
Other Thoughts: Hidden costs. It will be about a hundred for the maps upgrade (initial upgrade is free) and about fifty for traffic. Sounds a bit steep but I can understand the cost of maps and traffic to some degree, the fact that your maps and traffic are bound to the unit doesn’t feel right. So if I decide that the unit I got is way too cheesy I would lose my map and traffic investment.
Unit does not have a friendly interface to go with alternative route. There are two ways to do it - if you know the way you can just drive and at some point it will realize that your way is shorter and it will stop telling you to turn around. The other way is to stick a via point every time. Both ways are really annoying.
Search interface is corky, it searches in a state, so if you live on a border and often search in two or more states prepare to type the state every time. Why they could not just give me few buttons with states next to me?
Search feels slow.
I own it for about a month at the time of writing. I

Pros: Works;Light; Great picture quality. Upgraded firmware as soon as i gave it a connection.
Cons: It is trying to be "smart" and turns on when i turn on my Samsung DVD player;
UI for the NET stuff lags a bit.
Other Thoughts: Simpy a great tv that works as you expect it. Cannot really ask for more. I wish they had something better fo cable management, make it go trough the stand or something.READ FULL REVIEW
