Pros: Does what it says - plays records, you can record them to MP3 on your computer. Software (Audacity) does a good job of recording, and has lots of features, and has good on-line help. Easy hookup to USB. Small and light. Simple to use.

Cons: The CD that was supposed to have software on it, was blank (I inserted it and Windows asked what I'd like to put on it!). I downloaded free software over the Internet (do a search for Audacity software) and I'm using version 1.3.8 on my Vista 64 system. Audacity software needs you to set it for Stereo and you'll need to set the USB "microphone" (record player) for stereo. (Directions tell you some of this.)

Overall Review: Mine came well packed, with two needles (2nd is spare) and readable instruction manual. If you want to produce MP3's you'll need to download the Lame MP3 Encoder, Audacity makes it easy to do this (they provide a link when you try to write out a MP3). I had no problems with the lever to lift the tonearm. Note that the turntable won't turn if the tone arm is in its off-record position. There's a set-screw that you have to unscrew as much as you can else the tone is off. I would buy this again and would recommend it to others.

Pros: The LED lights are useful if you don't have any other lighting available.

Cons: * The hub does not work. Devices connected cannot be seen/accessed by computer. * The hub flashes different color lights all the time, this is very annoying and there's no way to turn it off. Consider burying it under stuff if the lights are annoying.

Overall Review: It is possible that this one device I received was DOA. However for the price I paid it wasn't worth the effort to return it. Therefore, my advice: don't buy this.
