Speeds things up
Pros: Transfer of data on the original hard drive to new SSD was easy to do thanks to the Samsung Data Migration software included with the kit. Boot ups are much faster then my old IDE hard drive. The Samsung Magicin software has a speed test function and I am at about half of their rating. The speed test shows Sequential Read MB/s is at 235, and Sequential Write is at 247 MB/s. This is much faster then my old IDE drive which speed tests at 6 & 14 respectively.
Cons: This is not a con actually - but I wish I could get the top rated speeds available in SSD. But my software and hardware is older. Processor is an Intel Core 2 duo E8400 @ 3.0 GHz, running windows XP.
Louder Sounds
Pros: My wife can now enjoy listening to music without the tin can sound of the laptop speakers. Not high quality audio - but worth the price.
Cons: Not the best sounding speakers- kind of lightweight and fall over easy. The bases stain furniture - see other comments.
Overall Review: I originaly placed the speakers on either side of the laptop on the glass kitchen table. My wife was complaining of lousy wi-fi connection after the speakers were there - so I put them under the table on the white painted pedestal. They were out of the way and she seemed to get wi-fi again. A couple of weeks later I moved the speakers to dust - and could not believe it - the bottom of the speakers have outgassed a yellow stain on our furniture that will not come out. We tried every cleaner we had - and now a few days later - the yellow stains seem to be getting darker even after the speakers were moved to another place. Needless to say, my wife is upset at this since the furniture is less then a year old.
Capable Cable
Pros: Flat, plus the long length -25' - lets me put my modem in a higher area of the room - this makes the wi-fi signal stonger everywhere in the house.
Cons: None
