This review is from: BUFFALO DriveStation 4TB USB 3.0 External Desktop Hard Drive HD-LC4.0U3
Pros: Been great so far, my test is always how long it lasts. My last external 2TB is almost 5 years old so I wanted to replace it. My last one spooled up very slowly when accessing data, but I knew it was powered down so I knew it would last, and it did.
-I don't know if maybe it is just not going to sleep (like it says it should) or it just starts back up very quickly. Hard drive seems to always be accessible for my plex server etc.
-Transfers speeds are what you expects from a USB 3.0 HDD.
-Quiet as a mouse
Cons: -None so far
Other Thoughts: -If it lasts I'll love it.READ FULL REVIEW
Pros: It does somewhat work, and will play games nicely (only with the fan at complete full speed, SO LOUD).
Cons: Heat problems out the door. When I first got it, it had an annoying ringing (only when using a USB device) and the internal fans go crazy, anywhere from not being on, to it sounding like it's ready for takeoff.
-After 3 hours on the phone with HP, I returned it to HP twice. The first time they sent it back they replaced the motherboard. This fixed the high-pitch squealing but the fan/heat issues were never fixed.
-Sent back a 2nd time for the "crazy-fan" issue, not sure what they did, seemingly nothing, because I've lived with this problem for 3+ years now.
-I had to buy a laptop cooler or it would crash during gaming.
-Hard drive area where I place my hand during gaming gets incredibly hot (we're talking able to burn skin). Have to use a USB keyboard to avoid this.
-Came with a 1 year warranty.
Other Thoughts: -This laptop was a "Lemon", but never recalled by HP and I will never buy another HP product again.
-Replaced this with a MSI Gaming Laptop, couldn't be happier with the MSI.
-HP is a dead company to me.
This review is from: NZXT FX-140LB 140mm Enthusiast 3 Speed Fluid Dynamic Bearing 2000RMP Fan
Pros: -3 Speed, the lowest is very quiet, the next too, not so much, but a lot of air flow.
-Connected to my NZXT case fan control switch easily.
Cons: None so far
Other Thoughts: I just bought a NZXT case and got 2 more of these 140mm and they connected right to the on case speed control. Perfect.READ FULL REVIEW
