4 out of 5 eggs Owned for 6 years... finally failed. 04/27/2016

This review is from: GIGABYTE M6800 GM-M6800 Noble Black 4 Buttons 1 x Wheel USB Wired Optical 1600 dpi Gaming Mouse

Pros: - Used massively for 6 years. Extremely long lasting.
- Long enough cord, but not monstrously-long (can reach behind the desk to the tower on the floor).
- Large enough for a larger hand, but again, not monstrous... my kids can use it easily.
- As others have mentioned, very precise DPI laser. The cursor never jumped once in 6 years.
- Rubber grips on either side form-fitted to hold to your hand... warning though: RIGHT-HANDERS ONLY!
- Pretty easy to keep the majority of it clean -- and I'm a neat-freak.
- Durable for everyday drops and hard bumps.

Cons: - I've noticed others mentioning this as well: middle mouse button failed. {Debounce circuit failure suspected.}
- Non-slip pads on base glued-on and will fail after a couple years, but can be simply glued back on.
- I found out non-slip pads on base are covering screws for inside access to component circuits.
- Non-slip pads need more mass as they don't proceed far enough to keep uneven surfaces from being scratched.

Other Thoughts: - I recommend this mouse to anyone considering a good mouse for a low price.
- I am purchasing a replacement again tonight... maybe I'm just used to it, but I like it.
- I never used the DPI Switching feature (speeds up mouse movement 2x)... no need when I can simply move my hand a bit further/faster. Takes less time to do that than to find the little button, press it, perform the movement, and press it again.
- I never got the "squeaky wheel" that some mice get.
- Mouse button clicks are about as loud as most other mice... would prefer quieter, but w/e.

Pros: Clean exterior; keyboard had all the keys; powered on quickly once I pressed the power button; fits under my desk.

Cons: Pirated copy of Windows! Immediately was notified of non-genuine version running. I have never had a problem with Newegg before, so I don't put blame on them. And, honestly, I expected more from HP. Buyer beware.

Other Thoughts: I'm sure not *all* of the OSs are non-genuine, but be prepared that this system may end up costing you an extra $50-100 (unless you want to use Linux).

4 out of 5 eggs decent little drive 01/09/2014

This review is from: WD 1TB Elements Portable External Hard Drive - USB 3.0 - WDBUZG0010BBK-NESN

Pros: Inexpensive (compared to similar products on market at time of purchase). Extremely simple plug-n-play... just plug and go (needs reformatting for Mac OS X). Single USB port required (no ext power needed). Very small (just larger than my palm).

Cons: Runs warm. Plastic case insulates heat a bit too well (wish it was aluminum). However, it does have four tiny feet to keep it from lying flush against a surface. Included *custom* USB cable is only about 18 inches (45 cm). If this cable is broken, you're out an ext HDD! A bit slow compared to a similar competing product.

Other Thoughts: -1 egg for plastic case and custom cabling.

Just received it in mail (2 days after purchase). Make sure your virtual machine doesn't grab the drive away from the host. I spent ½ hour tracking down why I couldn't access it. USB speeds are slow, but that's what you're buying.

Comes with 30-day trial of WD backup s/w.
