Awesome router, but......
Pros: Great router that is easy to configure, update, and connect to. I've used this router in a couple different houses that I've lived in and love it! I've recommended it to friends and family for their needs, too.
Cons: The internal memory periodically (every few months) will forget the custom, protected network I set up and revert to the default "linksys" one. I've upgraded the firmware twice on this over the last few years, but it still occurs.
Overall Review: If it wasn't for the periodic forgetful nature of the router, I'd rank this 5 eggs every day and twice on Sundays! It's a great router for home use.
What? Speak up, sonny!
Pros: Fast drive. Litescribe is a great feature.
Cons: LOUD, LOUD, LOUD! I couldn't believe how loud this drive is. If I had to do it all over, I'd go with a different brand. This is insanely loud when accessing data on a disc (DVD or CD).
LOUD!
Pros: This is a fast drive and the price is right.
Cons: This drive is VERY loud when accessing discs. I work at an airport and can listen to jet engines all day, but the noise produced by this drive is making me think about replacing it already.
Overall Review: The only reason I dropped it an egg was because of the noise. Otherwise, this is a 5-egg product!
Nice OS from MS
Pros: I used XP from the day it was released and continued to do so until Windows 7 came out. I skipped Vista (even going so far as to "upgrade" a new laptop to XP Pro) and am glad I did. Windows 7 seems to have been done right by Microsoft. I'm very happy with it and look forward to years of reliable performance.
Cons: Haven't found many notable ones. The only thing I wish is that I could have the Start Menu bar in Windows Classic mode, but I can get used to the new look.
Cool, niche product
Pros: Very cool looking design. It definitely looks like a V8 engine. Very quiet and keeps my i7 860 running in the mid 30's to low 40 degrees C.
Cons: It is a pain in the rear to install by yourself. Get a friend or someone who owes you a favor to hold the motherboard while you do the install.
Overall Review: It absolutely DWARFS the stock processor fan. I really like the look of it!
Hella Room!
Pros: 1. Tons of room for anything you want to include in your system. 2. Runs very quiet. I can barely hear the case fans blowing on full bore. 3. Motherboard tray is very handy when installing components. 4. HDD mounts are very easy to use. I like how the SATA cables go towards the right side of the case and funnel down to the motherboard from there.
Cons: 1. Case is HUGE. Only a con if you're trying to fit the case where a "normal" full-size case used to go. This thing is Ginormous! 2. Nothing else I can think of.
Overall Review: UPS damaged the case during shipping, but I was so eager to get my new system up and running, I didn't send it back. The main side panel has a nice ding in it. I took photos of the box and panel, but I'm really not gonna do anything about it because my system is up and running nicely.
