Pros: Quality build, Sleek form factor, Excellent display with no dead pixels, streaking or hot spots, Strong performance across apps, video playback and gaming. LG's "knock knock" feature is very handy.
Cons: Need to raise brightness for videos, headphone output could be louder.
Other Thoughts: After researching and demoing tablets for weeks, I finally pulled the trigger on a G-Pad when Newegg put them on sale recently. My unit came completely wrapped and sealed with no indication that it was not 100% new. I find the performance of the tablet to be extremely fast and smooth. In particular, the wifi reception is terrific I also have no issues with the display, though I can understand the criticism that it can be tough to see into shadow areas when viewing video. I keep brightness at 60% and raise to 80% for video applications. Other than that, the high resolution display is very impressive, with great color and contrast;. Battery life seems above average. Speakers are OK, I generally use headphones and I wish the volume output was a bit stronger for my higher impedance cans but the sound is fine. Overall, I am very pleased with this tablet. In my opinion, this is by far the best value proposition in the 8 inch segment of Android tablets right now. As always, Newegg's service was fast and professional.READ FULL REVIEW
This review is from: Koss KSC75 Portable Sportclip Stereophone Earphone
Pros: Lively and dynamic sound that rivals much more expensive cans. Ridiculously good value for money. Koss is a great American brand.
Cons: Build quality is not inspiring. Clip on style isn't for everyone. Require decent amplification to sound their best.
Other Thoughts: I've been a pretty loyal Koss customer over the years and recently purchased the KSC-75's, which I have owned in the past. The sound is typical Koss and that is to say excellent-open, clean and dynamic with good range. These headphones are used almost exclusively with a media center laptop on my desk and for that use they are perfect and sound fantastic. They are less successful when paired with my cell's MP3 player. They sound OK but are capable of much more. This is not the 75's fault, of course. Clips are fine when used at home but can be awkward and frustrating to wear on the road or at the gym. Not a pair of phones to put in a pocket or even to throw in a bag. Koss build quality is not the best but lifetime warranty helps.READ FULL REVIEW
This review is from: Pioneer VSX-819H-K 5.1-Channel A/V Receiver
Pros: Price, very decent build quality, latest gen decoding, good sound, usable remote.
Cons: Not 7.1, 110/w per channel is probably overstated. Pioneer's power ratings are a bit misleading.
Other Thoughts: I use this receiver in a small apartment living room with a old school Celestion speaker array without a sub. I had no issues with setup and performance is flawless.. no dropouts or problems with my other HDMI components (Blu-Ray and cable box). Sound is musical and dynamic, though maybe not as rich as from previous Onkyo receivers I have owned. Overall, an excellent unit at great price. This is my first Pioneer product and I am impressed.READ FULL REVIEW
