Nice Case

Thermaltake Tsunami VA3000SNA Silver 0.8 mm All aluminum made ATX Mid Tower Computer Case
Thermaltake Tsunami VA3000SNA Silver 0.8 mm All aluminum made ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

Comments: Case not only looks great but cools great too. The 12cm fans that come with it are very quiet and effective. Drive installation was smooth, the 5.25 bays can be installed from the front behind the faceplate with included snap in rails. The 3.5 drive bay has a spring clip allowing it to be removed for drive mouting. The 3.5 hd cage also pops out by loosening a thumbscrew and features rubber screw hole washers to dampen hd noise/vibration as well as thumb screws for securing the hd's. They did a nice job with the edges, not one cut while installing everything. The topside usb, audio, firewire port didnt work for me since my pc needs to sit in a space with 1" of topside clearance but I used the enermax 5.25 bay digital temp display to add temp monitoring, mic, usb and firewire to the case front and it happens to match the case perfectly with blue display and silver color. Only 2 minor caveats: 1) Case is /almost/ all aluminum, the face plate behind the front door is plastic but at least it matches the aluminum perfectly. Everything else is in fact aluminum however. 2) The lock that controls the door and faceplate is annoying since it seems to be a little...quirky. May need to rotate key back and forward again to get the faceplate to open or lock over the 5.25/3.5 bay access area, but it is livable. Can't overstate how nice the hd mount rubber washers and thumbscrews are as well as the airflow and thermal dynamics of this case. This case is about 2 feet from my left ear and I can barely hear a thing while it maintains a delicious 78-84F temp near the cpu in a room with no ac and an ambient temp of about 73F. I do not have a cpu or hd's that tend to run cool either. I bought this case because my temp alarm (set at 148F) was going off often forcing me to shut down or pull the side panel off my previous steel and plastic case that had 3 80mm fans. That is quite an amazing difference. I used the Silverstone 460W silent power psu with it and it seems to be a great duo for minimal noise and great cooling. Newegg was incredibly fast processing my order. I got both boes of goodies I ordered within 1.5 days.

Comments: Exceptionally quiet and running very cool in my setup. High quality all around, tons of connectors with nice long reach.

Comments: I was really glad to find this gadget since it freed me up to select a case that didn't have the built in LCD temp display that I need, which allowed me to get an aluminum case with two 12cm fans instead of the whinier less effective 80mm fans that seem to be the only option for so many cases that have built in lcd temp readouts. Installation was easy, just set the temp alarm jumpers per the manual before installing. The unit is attractive with a blue backlit display that happens to match the Thermaltake tsunami case lights perfectly. Only caveat is the usb/1394 cables that connect to the front panel internally are male usb and wont connect directly to the motherboard usb headers. I happened to have a 2 mobo usb header/2 female usb cable already but if you don't have one then definitely order one with this if you plan to connect to your motherboard usb headers.
