Works like a charm
Pros: WOW. I was not disappointed. I only needed to go 10-12 feet in my living room. Great respose and stability, once I got used to the trackball. I also like the erganomic feel of the kbd. I didnt load the cd and got IE scrolling functions and all the clickers work.
Cons: none
Good price, poor color
Pros: The resolution is good and the IR for night is fair. The price is GREAT for all that it includes. The wide angle is also very good - better than most I had tried.
Cons: The color quality sucks. There are these color blotches and sunbursts that occurred off glare points. I had to lower the color saturation greatly to the point just above black and white where you could see the most minimum of color and these blotches would go away. I had bought 5 other brand cameras and this unit was the only one I had to adjust. The other units ranged from $25-$45 more in total price( incl ext cable and power adapter) and the color was great. This K guard unit was the only one that sucked.
Absolute garbage
Pros: none
Cons: Waste of code software that will not let you save the WAN static IP, Will only run in DHCP mode. Alot of other great features, but worthless if you cant even get the WAN to configure correctly. Firmware upgrade did not help but to wipe the settings and make me do it TWICE.
Overall Review: Cr@$#@ that doesn't stink
Failed after 1 month
Pros: Still like the brand. Bought a pair for a Raid 1. one unit has already failed. This is my try at this purple line and it is off to a rocky start, but I have had lot of failures with 2 and 3 TB drives. Hopefully this is just a defective unit and the replacement will be fine.
Cons: too early to determine
Not sure about quality
Pros: It does provide alot of data and cable accessories. I like the power button position - it is not a slide switch that can be accidentally turned on and then the battery will drain out. Nothing worse.
Cons: A bit bulky and it was DOA. I had another earlier that only lasted 3 weeks.
Overall Review: for the price, I expected a bit more
2 DOA
Pros: Well, The price is certainly right.
Cons: Upon reading some of the other doa stories, I decided to test these 2 out before deploying them in a NAS. The 1st one wouldn't partition. The 2nd looked fine at 1st and even passed the SMART test. Until I ran the WDC Data lifeguard and the Quick test didnt finish with a read element failure. And ofcourse, it wouldnt finish chkdsk /r. I am sending back for 2 replacements. I still love WDC but I am being mreo cautious about their products.
Overall Review: I am hoping I just got a bad batch!
