Awesome In New Skylake 5K iMac

G.SKILL Ripjaws 32GB (4 x 8GB) 204-Pin DDR3 SO-DIMM DDR3L 1866 Laptop Memory Model F3-1866C11Q-32GRSL
G.SKILL Ripjaws 32GB (4 x 8GB) 204-Pin DDR3 SO-DIMM DDR3L 1866 Laptop Memory Model F3-1866C11Q-32GRSL

Pros: If you opt for this when spec'ing out your new iMac it will cost you an additional $600 (slightly less with an education discount). Other vendors have this upgrade for ~250 but Newegg has the best price by far at ~159. Upgrading the existing was easy (it is the only user replaceable item in the iMac,,.well one that doesn't void the warranty). Booted up like a champ and I have been flying around Lightroom & Photoshop since. If you are on the fence, just do it. I have to give wicked props to the G.Skill online chat available through Newegg. They were quick to respond and let me know what I needed to order to work with the iMac. Thanks again

Cons: None what so ever.

Most Critical Review

YMMV

VIZO VIZO-SCB-BL Cable Binding Kit (UV Blue)
VIZO VIZO-SCB-BL Cable Binding Kit (UV Blue)

Pros: Looks great under UV.

Cons: I ended up wasting more than I used and eventually just took it off.

Overall Review: I would consider trying it again.

Awesome Drives

Seagate Desktop HDD ST3000DM001 3TB 64MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive Bare Drive
Seagate Desktop HDD ST3000DM001 3TB 64MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive Bare Drive

Pros: Ordered four of these for my diskless Pegasus2 R4 I picked up. I popped them into the disk trays and they all spun up and I went to work initializing my RAID5 setup. Many hours later I was greeted with a wicked fast RAID5 array and have been loving it ever since. I would have no hesitation on purchasing these drives ever again. I will be ordering some more for some spares.

Cons: None

Overall Review: Props to Newegg on their packaging. I have been ordering from them for numerous years and this was by far the best packaged drive set I have received from them!

Works In Drobo 5N

Intel 525 Series Lincoln Crest SSDMCEAC090B301 mSATA 90GB SATA III MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD)
Intel 525 Series Lincoln Crest SSDMCEAC090B301 mSATA 90GB SATA III MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD)

Pros: I just popped this into my Drobo 5N and it is off and working it's magic. I lean towards Intel for their SSD quality and have never had any regrets. This drive isn't officially listed on Drobo's site as compatible but I took a gamble and it paid off.

Cons: None but I will report back if this changes

Raided Terabytes FTW

Drobo Network Attached Storage - 5 Bay Array with mSATA SSD Acceleration - Gigabit Ethernet port (DRDS4A21)
Drobo Network Attached Storage - 5 Bay Array with mSATA SSD Acceleration - Gigabit Ethernet port (DRDS4A21)

Pros: I picked up five 4TB Seagate drives a week or so back when they were on sale and just plugged them into this beast last night. I now have ~15TB of raided space. I also took a jump and ordered one of the newer Intel 524 Lincoln Crest mSATA drives (90GB) for the accelerator and while it wasn't one of the recommended ones on Drobo's page, it worked with out issues.

Cons: None but I will report back with any negative information

5/5 Good & Working As Expected

Seagate Desktop HDD ST4000DM000 4TB 64MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive Bare Drive
Seagate Desktop HDD ST4000DM000 4TB 64MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive Bare Drive

Pros: I was very hesitant on purchasing these OEM drives as it seems to be a hit or miss. I ordered 5 on the recent sale and all of them came well packaged and spun up perfectly. These were placed into a brand new Drobo 5N w/ an Intel 525 Lincoln Crest mSATA drive. They took a bit to initialize but everything is up and running now.

Cons: None yet but I will report back on the long term usage.
