Decent computer
Pros: -Runs smooth -Price is right compared to other major brands and components included -Manuals for the components are included for your reading
Cons: -1 year warranty -No room for additional cards (video card blocks the last remaining PCI) -No option for wireless card addition unless you use a USB or POE option. I had to run some cat 6 to give my computer some internet access.
Overall Review: -I will look into installing a SSD for the OS drive and making the 1TB drive a storage drive. -Adding another case fan and upgrading the memory will help sweeten this machine.
Won't buy again
Pros: Power supply works great!
Cons: OCZ jacked me out of my rebate. I bought this supply only because the rebate price made the purchase reasonable. I just received a notification that my claim was denied! I followed the dates and instructions to the T. Promotion: US & CDN through Newegg (12/24/08-12/31/08) H830260 Claim ID: 50905704 It was purchased 12/29/08 and mailed the first week of January using first class.
Overall Review: I will pursue this through CA's Attorney General office. I suspect fraud in this case if not human error on the side of OCZ.
Nice Monitor
Pros: Monitor looks great and have had no issues for the past three months.
Cons: ASUS rebate never came. I would not recommend buying rebates from ASUS. Showed shipped but never received. I even selected expedited to receive less money on the card. Newegg said to take the issue up with ASUS. The ASUS rebate customer number does not have a person on the other end. That site that sells the Kindle might be a better choice next time.
Great deal
Pros: Works!
Cons: None.
Good Deal
Pros: No dead pixels, has DVI and VGA, and picture quality is very nice for the price that I paid.
Cons: No vertical adjustment and screen menu buttons are awkward to touch (i.e., they feel cheap).
Not a quick install
Pros: It cools well! The price is decent and Newegg rocks for the free shipping and bundled USB cable. Fits on the ASUS P5QL Pro board in the Antec 900 case.
Cons: The protective plastic on the heatsink left tons of glue adhesive on the aluminum and copper base where the processor meets. I had to use 70% iso alcohol to remove the gummy mess. The fan is also not easily installed.
Overall Review: Intel's 775 heatsink mounting design sucks!
