fixed my issues
Pros: pretty decent profile. does what the stock fan cant. fixed my overheat to blackscreen issue with x1950 pro
Cons: maybe include some VRM heatsinks too?
Overall Review: Ok, so...the resting temperature with this fan isn't particularly much better than the stock fan. Maybe a few degrees. However, under load it seems to do a better job. My screen would black out, which I learned was due to overheating under a heavy processing load. Some places say its due to crapp-y overheating VRMs, but that wasn't the case for me. It could also have been caused by a layer of solid dirt that had accumulated across the old stock heatsink, but I think it's due to crapp-y design regardless.
Stuttering
Overall Review: Artifacting and stuttering under load. Tested in different systems and with different driver versions.
works great
Pros: More BIOS options than you can shake a stick at. Worked great for overclocking with an e5200. got it to 3GHz (from 2.5GHz) with no voltage increases. I imagine with some cooling you could go a lot higher.
Cons: None that I can think of right now.
Not terrible
Pros: Good when compared to more expensive boards with similar features
Cons: Overlocking.... Pathetic. Simply disgusting.
Overall Review: Don't do what I did, which was try to build a low cost/high feature system. I'm returning this and replacing it with the comparable Gigabyte product.
good cooler
Pros: Installation was a breeze. Is very quiet. Great product!
Cons: None that I can think of.
Overall Review: Keeps my old 3GHz P4 running under 100 degrees (F).
think of an alternative
Pros: Great speed for it's release year, nothing special now though.
Cons: Expensive as all hell.
Overall Review: Here's what I really wanted to say: If you are considering buying more of this RAM, don't. Go buy a C2D, new motherboard, and 2GB DDR2. Buy it here at newegg, you'll find you spent about the same amount of money. This is my conundrum. RDRAM was not the way to go, even for how fast it is/was.
