Seagate FreeAgent Go 320GB USB 2.0 2.5" External Hard Drive ST903203FGA2E1-RK Silver
Seagate FreeAgent Go 320GB USB 2.0 2.5" External Hard Drive ST903203FGA2E1-RK Silver

Pros: Super portable, only requires 1 USB cable. Works right out of the box with no need for software install, etc. Runs cool and quiet. Bus powered, so if you have spare USB cables, you only need to take the drive with you.

Cons: none that were unexpected (see below)

Overall Review: It's more expensive and slower than the same capacity 3.5" drive, but I was willing to give up a little for the pros listed above. I use it on several different computers and have the proper USB cable hanging from each. Moving the drive between systems is as simple as (properly) disconnecting it and plugging it into the next system. NewEgg rocks with their shipping and prices! Had it in two days with free shipping - can't beat that with a stick!

Most Critical Review

not all that great

D-Link DSD-150 Internet Security Device
D-Link DSD-150 Internet Security Device

Pros: Firewall appears to work, filtering seems to be doing the job

Cons: This thing was a really bugger to get set up properly, partially due to my own misinderstanding of what its limitations are. Tech support was horrible - after spending over an hour on the phone with them telling me the same things over and over, they finally told me to box it up and send it back. I decided to do some online research before doing that, and I have been able to get it to work.

Overall Review: With the opportunity to do it all over again, I would not purchase this product. It took me several hours to get through the initial setup and installation of the firewall and client config on three computers. My key misunderstanding before purchase was that I would not need a router behind the DSD-150. I thought I could run my cable modem into it, then it into a D-Link switch. As it turns out, you still need a router stuck in there. So now I just have it sitting between my cable modem and router, with the router's firewall disabled. The DSD-150 seems to be doing the job (my router's firewall keep locking down, so I had to reboot it every day) and this has solved that problem.

Pros: none

No problems!

SAMSUNG EcoGreen F2 HD154UI 1.5TB 7200 RPM 32MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive Bare Drive

Pros: Inexpensive, fast enough for me, free shipping

Cons: None so far

Overall Review: I was all set to buy a 1 TB drive until I saw this one for just a few bucks more and free shipping sealed the deal. Installed on a Windows Home Server drive array with absolutely no problems. Drive speed isn't a huge issue for me, so no comments there.
