ran a scan disk because i had two a crucial M550 that both had bad sectors right out of the box. no bad sectors on this drive Apotop.
Cons: not ultra fast but reliable.
Other Thoughts: sleek design, decent cost.
for a no name brand has great reviews by everyone who purchased it. dropped it once from a foot off the ground no effect. Would buy again.
Pros: runs fast, small form factor
Cons: the first one had bad sectors. and would always get sector errors. talked with Crucial tried their SSD utility, it said the drive was ok. crystalmark info said it was ok too. but i continue to get bad sector reading from several other smart analysis software shows bad sectors. received a replacment from newegg same thing bad sectors.
Other Thoughts: i loved the M4 SSDs but this M550 i'm done with them. can't trust crucial's SSD utility it thinks its fine.READ FULL REVIEW
Pros: Does work with Hauppauge capture cards on Windows 7. Under Kill a Watt monitor. (a standard ATX motherboard 270U processor with TDP of 25, running a 1 crucial SSD, heatsink 90mm, ATI 5350 pci-e card, 1 USB connected, and IMON display runs yearly at $165.00 56 watts and 58 volts idle.) (a Athlon 5350 on AM1H-ITX with 1 corsair force 60GB SSD, 50mm heatsink, Hauppauge 1850 single TV turner, 2x1033 ram 1.5volts, BluRay drive connected 19v 90w ac adapter is $73.58 a year, 24 watts average, 27 volts.
$60.44 a year without a 5.25” Bluray drive attached. 18-30% cpu usage when watching a tv show on the Hauppauge and playing Netflix at the same time. 33-34 watts used when recording one show and watching another.) Clearly beats the ATX with a 270U which carried the same TDP of 25.
Cons: basic heatsink seemed a little tall so went with Switched to GELID Solutions CC-Ssilence-AM1heatsink wider but shorter for low profile setup.
Other Thoughts: once i had loaded windows 7 it worked just fine playing and recording TV. Running both netflix and recording TV at the same time didn't make the CPU go any higher than 30% watts was surprising. with no overclocking.READ FULL REVIEW
