Perfect for travel
Pros: Bought this to use while traveling around Afghanistan. Finding adequate equipment to perform your job is a real challenge. You have to take everything you need with you. This is the perfect size for travel to use with a laptop. The usb power means you don't have to have additional power sources. Especially if they are not available. The built in software means you don't have to load the full scanner suite or you can use it on different computers without worrying about the drivers. It is relatively fast. Compared to a flatbed scanner it screams. Thanks Newegg for the fast shipment to APO address, you guys always rock!!
Cons: Come on Cannon!, you couldn't put the AC adapter in the box! It's an option?! I knocked off one egg for the AC adapter. For the price that should have been included. Using two usb ports to power could be and issue for smaller ultra books. It does allow the use of one usb 3.0 port, if you have one, because of the higher power output. To be fair, I did know it was usb powered when I bought it. I bought it for the size and scanning features.
Overall Review: If you are always scanning docs while traveling, this is a good investment. It does add a little more weight to the computer kit. The convenience of not having to search for a scanner is a plus.
Good Size, Poor Reliability
Pros: Great size for travel. fast SSD's. Boots quick, Lightweight.
Cons: Hard Drive failed after 8 months. As a contractor, I use it to travel back and forth from US to other countries. And as a work computer. C-Partition failed with no warning. Fortunately I had backups of important data. Having trouble getting ASUS to take it and repair. This is the second ASUS notebook that I have bought that has had a hard drive failure. There will not be a third. Plus the fact that they will not accept Neweggs invoice as legitimate. I will not buy another ASUS Notebook computer.
Overall Review: For the price that Asus is charging for these Zenbooks, they should have a premier warranty pipeline in place to to keep their customer base happy. Instead I see epic failure.
