Great card
Pros: I must, admit, I'm loving this card. As others have said, this does run Really HOT. Once you install it, you will have to download the new drivers and catalyst control center in order to control the fan. Once the fan is ratched up (I put it to 38%) it's fine. You will notice a difference in room temperature, so make sure you have a window or Fan in the room. Frame rates are beautiful. MS Vista Ultimate gave it the 5.9 rating (top) and I have two 22" panels feeding off it without a hiccup. Great for watching movies as well.
Cons: I didn't know I needed to download new drivers. Got really hot until I figured that one out.
Overall Review: May want to D/L drivers before installing. And check out the power requirements as well. You get an INSANE performance, but it does chew up some power.
Not worth it.
Pros: Looks pretty.
Cons: Every portion of the drive is assigned a letter, not just the active part. Makes it messy and difficult to organize. Also the USB in the front would not recognize anything I plugged into. Probably should have RMA'ed it, but held on to it too long before installing.
Overall Review: Spend a little more, get something better.
Works like a champ
Pros: This is the second Acer I have bought. It works great and looks great. This one can pivot 90 degrees which makes it really convienent for long web pages or using TurboTax. The only reason I got this one instead of another one like the one I have is for that feature.
Cons: on screen menus suck. not intuitive. but luckily, they are pretty much set and forget.
Overall Review: Once you buy an Acer, you'll be hooked
A winner
Pros: Had an alternate card reader...hated it. This one is a winner. Quick install (even on a Gigabye X48). Drivers found loaded quickly, and no problems at all. Does exactly what it's supposed to do
Cons: Still wish there was a reader that only showed drives when a memory card is installed, but have never found such a drive
Overall Review: none
Easy for Anyone
Pros: I bought this MB after alot of research. This one provides the biggest bang for the buck if you don't want to go for DDR3. This is only the second computer I have ever built, but this MB was a pleasure to work with. The tweakers built in gave me the ability to take my Q9450 to 3.4GHz about 30 minutes after installing. The onboard hardware was user friendly and I got a RAID 5 setup in about an hour. If you want a) 45nm Chip; b)RAID; and c)DDR2..this is the right board.
Cons: Most of the drivers need to be updated. If you use the LAN driver updates from Microsoft, your network ports will stop working.
Overall Review: My Rig: q9450, Gigabyte GA-x48, 4xWD 640G in RAID 5, 4G OCZ, Windows Vista Utimate 64-bit, Radeon HD 4870.
Look nice
Pros: Built a new gaming system and had alot of real estate between my MB and my Hard drives. These did the trick nicely. They also look really good, making the overall machine appearance more attractive. Very solid and I'm getting the full expected throughput
Cons: none.
Overall Review: If you have SATA II, get these. You won't be disappointed. My Rig: q9450, Gigabyte GA-x48, 4xWD 640G in RAID 5, 4G OCZ, Windows Vista Utimate 64-bit, Radeon HD 4870.
