So far, so good
Pros: Performance is terrific... Dragon Age II on high detail with nary a hiccup. I didn't want to believe it til I saw it, now I'm a believer. When I opened up the box, I wondered where the other half of my laptop was... its slim and light. Well worth the price.
Cons: Keyboard layout is not great. NumPad should have just been left out as far as I am concerned. I hit num lock frequently while aiming for the backspace. If you're planning on doing heavy writing, you might want to test drive before you invest.
Overall Review: For the price, you'll be hard pressed to find a laptop that performs this highly without breaking your back with its weight. For the price, you could buy this and then upgrade out of it without feeling like you wasted a lot of money.
It convinced me to never buy Belkin again.
Pros: It connected to the Internet.
Cons: Mediocre performance, every several days it needed to be disconnected, had problems working with other network connected devices. It was the worst router I've ever owned. Moved to an Apple airport extreme.... night and day.
Just set it up
Pros: Installation was easy. I used the built-in antenna to scan for channels and it picked up a wide range of them (downtown Chicago). HD signal was terrific. This might change from my home, but so far I would call this a very good value for the money.
Cons: None as of yet.
Suh-weet!
Pros: Lots of inputs, but the bottom line for me is I never expected *standard def* TV to look that good. The various picture modes includes a mode that takes a 4:3 and fits it to the frame with cropping but not distortion, and the quality is top notch. Added a DVI-HDMI cable and its my new PC gaming display too.
Cons: The "PC Input" is useless, use a DVI-HDMI cable if you want to hook your computer up. I concur with a previous reviewer, more control on the inputs would be nice. But both of these items are really trivial when it comes down to it. I am extremely satisfied with my purchase, it does exactly what I want it to.
Overall Review: Didn't weigh that much! I'd still recommend a friend because of its value, but should be easy for you to mount.
Just what I needed
Pros: The multiple inputs are terrific. I have my TV, Xbox 360, DVD player and computer all running through this one device with no other switchboxes inbetween. Uses standard speaker wire, so I was able to cable everything the way I wanted to. Sound quality on a whole is terrific, nice to have the remote control too.
Cons: I liked the Klipsch sub more back when I had it, but I can't really go full throttle with bass in my place anyhow so I'm satisfied.
Overall Review: Its pricy, but if you're using it as a speaker/surround receiver replacement (like I am) you'll be getting a lot of functionality in a very small package.
Update your firmware first
Pros: Its nice being able to centralize my files for accessing files and media between computer. This was the most cost-effective means for me to acheive it.
Cons: Takes about 1 minute for the drives to spin up from sleep, which is kinda annoying. The D-Link drive setup utility doesn't work on Vista; you need to use Network Drive Mapping to mount the drives. On a minor note, one of the drive LEDs died less than a week after setting it up. Given the costs associated with repair and downtime, I haven't bothered to report it... but it is annoying.
Overall Review: After unpacking the unit and installing the drives, UPDATE THE FIRMWARE. Don't copy, don't do anything, just update the firmware. Then do your thing.
