Reasonable waterproof solution

Waterproof Case for PowerShot A510/A520
Waterproof Case for PowerShot A510/A520

Pros: Keeps the camera dry and has shown no leaks. Also works fairly well to protect the camera in extreme enviroment.

Cons: Shutter button feels very rubbery. You don't get a good feel for when you have pushed it half way. In other words it feels like the shutter buttons on older 35mm underwater cameras. The only problem with that is that a digital camera has a half push and full push. Only other issue is that since the camera used in the encloser is prone to having the lens flaps stick half open you need to visually look for this when you are underwater, the LCD may show a decent picture (because the camera compensates for low light) but the actual picture can have a dark half when the lens flap doesn't fully open.

Most Critical Review

Poor reception

AVerMedia H968 AVerTV Express mini PCTV Tuner Card
AVerMedia H968 AVerTV Express mini PCTV Tuner Card

Pros: It was cheap, (not currently but it was on sale). It does tuck away nicely in the laptop.

Cons: Very poor reception, very bad accessories.

Overall Review: I was using a pinnacle usb tuner with my laptop but saw this one for a decent price and thought if it would slip nicely into the slot of my laptop then it might be worth it. Well it does hide nicely, but it gets horrible reception. It also only does auto scans so you can't manually tune it. I autoscanned and got 13 channels.... did that in the same place where I was getting over 27 with my old pinnacle tuner. 1 part of the problem is the very dinky nearly useless antenna that it comes with. When I replaced it with the pinnacle antenna it picked up 20 channels... still missing 7 but that was more than it could get with the old antenna. The only good thing about it is it doesn't stutter like the pinnacle one did. Of course that occasional stutter would be gladly taken if it could get a few more channels. In the end if they run it on sale and you need something for limited use, it might be worth it... but at 80 its not worth it.

Works perfectly with WMC

Rosewill RRC-126 - Windows Vista / 7 / 8 MCE Infrared Remote Control with Netflix Function
Rosewill RRC-126 - Windows Vista / 7 / 8 MCE Infrared Remote Control with Netflix Function

Pros: Provides all the functions you need on Windows Medica Center. Also very inexpensive so those are the pluses.

Cons: buttons are small and has no lights so in the dark if you are watching TV it is difficult to use.

Junk

New Battery for APPLE MacBook Pro 15" Aluminum Unibody A1286 2008 Version A1281
New Battery for APPLE MacBook Pro 15" Aluminum Unibody A1286 2008 Version A1281

Pros: Was cheap.

Cons: When I got the battery it was close to the 5200 mAh that it was advertised as... was off by less than 20 so I thought okay, close enough... Now it has been through a total of 8 cycles and is already down to 4961 mAh at full charge. However more annoying is I bought it to replace the original battery in an old 2008 macbook pro... that battery had gotten to over 400 cycles and was only keeping the computer running for about 2 hours max depending on what I was running compared to having over 3 hours of time when the computer was new... This new battery is doing good to keep the laptop running 2 hours, so somehow I have a new battery that is actually performing worse than the original battery that is almost 7 years old. I probably should have given it one star but it hasn't blown up, caught fire or died so I guess if you need a cheap spare it might help... but I wouldn't want to rely on it. Will try to update the review in a month and after it has been used a bit more to let people know if it has continued to lose power... at the rate it is going I am not holding out much hope for it lasting very long.

OEM? Not sure about that

Mitsubishi 915B441001 Projector Lamp with Original OEM Bulb Inside
Mitsubishi 915B441001 Projector Lamp with Original OEM Bulb Inside

Pros: Was relatively cheap, if it is indeed a Mitsubishi manufactured item.

Cons: Doesn't appear to be from Mitsubishi as per described.

Overall Review: When I buy a part for anything that is supposed to be from the original manufacturer I expect it to labeled as such. I you buy a part for your Honda that is made by Honda they have the brand stamped on it, if not on the item itself then on the box. This thing arrived in a plane brown box. Nothing about it or the item inside would tend to lead credence to it being made by Mitsubishi. Does it work? So far, but for how long is the question and fact that it doesn't appear to be as advertised makes me nervous. I'll update it when or if it burns out so if this review is still here 3 years from now with no update you'll know it never burned out in that time.

Works but not perfect

Ceton InfiniTV 4 USB: Quad-tuner external device for Watching Digital Cable TV on the PC, USB 2.0 Interface 5102-DCT04EX-USB
Ceton InfiniTV 4 USB: Quad-tuner external device for Watching Digital Cable TV on the PC, USB 2.0 Interface 5102-DCT04EX-USB

Pros: No need to wire it into a network as you have to do with the only other real option for people that need a cable card. This was purchased because the our current cable tuner required you to plug it into a network and access it via network. This product does work plugged directly into the comput which was a big improvement as I had no desire to string wire in my house for the other tuner (yes the other one would do wifi but after upgrading to the fastest router we could find you still had issues when trying to use it for HD content). I can use the ceton without any performance issues related to the signal.

Cons: Now the unit does have issues. My htpc is a Mac mini running windows 7. The problem is it will not work if you plug it directly into the Mac mini USB port. You MUST have a USB hub between the ceton and the mini or the mini will not recognize the ceton correctly. Not a major problem, but I only arrived at that solution after hours of Internet searching, the ceton customer service was useless and never mention that mac minis weren't 100% compatible, they simply kept telling me to try new firm ware and a differt USB cord, the Mac mini ceton compatibility issue is experienced by others as a google search proved. It is also not completely stable, in the 3 months I have had it it has needed to be reset 3 times and one of those times I was forced to call the cable company and have them reactivate the cable card as the ceton somehow hadrons completely out of sync.

Overall Review: It does work, but it isn't something that is perfect. You should also make sure you use it on a Rey fast machine and insure you have good hard drives. I have run it on different computers and found that a computer running the bare minimum processor speed will not record smoothly and will have random digital artifacts blocking out the picture. I suggest a minimum of dual core 2.5 or better to get the best results. Also make sure to have a fast hard drive if you intend to record multiple channels at the same time as other wise you will see some performance issues.
