Pros: Great proccesor. Fast, powerful number cruncher. Great for multitasking office work and for gaming. I do a lot of online gaming, and sometimes run 3 or 4 clients, as well as a browser and Trillian IM client, plus all the background apps, and i have not had any problems since. Thank you Intel for programming your processors to shut down when they overheat.

Cons: Runs pretty dang hot with the stock fan. Also, stock fan is really loud. Stock HSF is a little hard to get on, just be careful, and no problem.

Overall Review: The first time i installed this proc, i didn't get all of the little feet snapped in on the HSF, so it wouldn't boot due to the proc overheating. Took off HSF and re-installed it and its been working perfectly since. If it wasn't for Intel programming their chips to shut down upon overheating, i would have one fried Intel Pentium D 940.

Pros: Small, large capacity. Fast.

Cons: Flimsy connector. This thing fried on me, possibly related to the flimsy connector. I installed the drive and had to take it out and reinstall once. Noted the connector able to wobble back and forth. Later I had problems starting up my machine. Unplug the drive, machine powers up. Power off. Plugged ssd back in. Power on. Sparks, smoke comes out of ssd. This is a first for me. Very disappointing. FURTHERMORE. I called WD and they essentially told me to buzz off. They can’t be bothered to do ANYTHING. Didn’t even offer drive recovery as a paid service, and said it’s not available for failed drives. WD May have lost me as a customer, for their mediocre drive design, and bad customer service to boot. Recommend: Don’t buy!!

Overall Review: I got this to replace my three old barracudas. (Varying sizes- 300G, 600G, 500G) One had failed after 5 years, and the other two seemed fine but I didn't want to take my chances. I made backups of the two and right after I was finished moving data around, one of the other drives failed. I may have caused a problem by having a studio monitor near the pc. I have since moved it just in case the magnetic field was causing problems. Never saw glaring signs of failure when analyzing the disks. Just data was suddenly gone. I have a 4 TB external drive and a 1TB SSD. OS on SSD, the external for backups and archives, this 3TB drive will serve as large storage, and eventually I will get another and set up a RAID.

Overall Review: I thought the packaging was a little underwhelming as far as protecting the chips. But, everything seems just fine and dandy.

Pros: Drive - Very small, great looking, plug and play. Comes with nice little fabric case. Large capacity, very portable. USB powered - was a must for me. Nice little sliding door to keep USB port clean when in travel. I really like the LEDs on it as well, which make it easy to read the status of the drive, as well as approximate remaining space, when drivers are installed. Newegg - Obviously best prices ANYWHERE, hands down. Free shipping, phenomenally fast processing. A+ as usual to Newegg.

Cons: No cons so far, really... Fair amount of pre installed software takes up about 30 GiB, but I have installed what I need, backed up the documentation, and will format the drive. Not a big deal.

Overall Review: Yes, I just got this drive today, so there is no chance of me providing long term functionality, but I figured I'd write a review anyhow. The last reviewer mentioned that the drivers for the capacity gauge are Windows only. This is not true with the drive I just received. There is a mac folder, and I found and installed the necessary drivers for the gauge. Seems to work well. I love you, Newegg!

Pros: It's huge. Yes, thats good. Starting with technical: Lowered my core temps like crazy. Load temperatures on my Pentium D 940 are now 10 degrees lower than my stock HSF idle temps. It also is WAY quieter than the stock HSF. It is quieter than my case fans. Wonderful. The HS has nice little holes that allow you to use a screwdriver to push the mounting pins down, making the somewhat difficult LGA775 plugs a bit easier to manage what with this thing being so big. It looks REALLY cool.

Cons: Just my normal complaints about the LGA775 mounting system, not Scythe's fault at all. Bad thermal compound tube. Buy some arctic silver.

Overall Review: I installed it originally without the fan. This caused a very slight increase in temperatures, but I figured for silence it wasn't a big deal. Later, I plugged in the fan it came with and realized it was no louder than my case fans already. I noticed the very top of this thing was hot. The INSTANT I attached the fan, the sink was cool. The smallest bit of airflow over the huge surface area of this heat sink cools like a monster. It is big. It's really cool looking, and like I mention, the surface area rocks. If you don't like or have room for a big HSF, don't get it. If you do? Don't hesitate.
