Xigmatek Case

Xigmatek Elysium Black CCC-HSA0DS-U01 All Black Aluminum / Steel ATX Super Tower Computer Case
Xigmatek Elysium Black CCC-HSA0DS-U01 All Black Aluminum / Steel ATX Super Tower Computer Case

Pros: This case is enormous, you can purchase this case in confidence knowing you'll have no problem fitting anything of your hopes and dreams in here. With the 10 PCI expansion slots, and 12 x 5.25" bays in the front, you'll be able to expand this beast in anyway you want. This case absolutely DWARFS a regular ATX board, just to give you an idea. The grommet holes are perfect for all cable management with ample grommets located all over the case. The case comes with 4 stock fans, 2 x 120mm, 1 x 140mm and 1 x 200mm (on the side) and they alone keep it pretty cool. The removable top dust cover is great for easy cleaning, the front panel removes with ease with the pressure fitted plastic plug design to quickly access the front of your computer. 2 spots for power supplies if you have preference of either top or botttom, so many pros with this case it's hard to think of any cons.

Cons: I came across some very, small, tiny cons that I won't drop any eggs for because the pros outweigh the cons in so many ways. First, the PCI slots could have use a little spacing between the power supply at the bottom, just half an inch would have been great, this way if I am using the bottom slot wires don't have to rest on top of the PSU, just a little safety issue. Second, the side panel design is, just a pain sometimes if you have a maze of cables running in the back, the design could be tweaked a bit so the sides go on easier because you have to align them JUST right to make it go back on, I spent probably 10 minutes just learning how to perfectly place each side to get them to go on. This last one is sort of nit picking but, the power button seems gimmicky, it clicks when you press it and just gives off that cheap brand computer to me. Something more aggressive to compensate for this beast of a case. Like I said, nothing to take any eggs off for, just some tweaking.

Overall Review: Chances are, you won't need to upgrade your case ever again, and for only 50 or 60 dollars more than what you'd pay for a regular case, this case get's it done no matter how you want to do it. If this thing goes on sale, and you're trying to find a tower, you won't regret this buy for a minute.

3.6GHZ 8-Core

AMD FX-8150 - FX-Series Zambezi 8-Core 3.6 GHz Socket AM3+ 125W Desktop Processor - FD8150FRGUBOX

Pros: I'm not too savvy with giving reviews on processors because I haven't done any overclocking on any yet to date. I think this will be my first one I experiment with seeing as how it's supposed to go 1GHZ over the rated clock speed and my MOBO is capable of pushing it to that limit. However, it has been working perfectly since I bought it. No errors, or problems with it. No over heating. Just does what it is supposed to do.

Cons: None.

Pros: Shipped safely and worked right out of the box. Not much for me to really say because it's plug and play but it did work and my computer does read it as full 16gb. So, I'm pretty happy about that.

Cons: None.

Rosewill 1300W!

Rosewill LIGHTNING-1300 - 1300-Watt Modular, Active PFC Power Supply - Continuous @ 122 Degrees F (50C), 80 PLUS Gold, ATX 12V v2.31 & EPS 12V v2.92, Intel Haswell, SLI & CrossFire-Ready

Pros: This bad boy is pumping out 1300 watts of pure power to the max! I honestly do not need 1300 watts for any given reason right now but I went ahead and bought it anyway just for the sake of knowing I won't have to worry about upgrading my power supply. For a big PSU like this one, it is surprisingly silent. I did a dry run just to see how loud it was, and was shocked to hear nothing but the movement of air from this beast. Powers up everything on my computer with absolutely no problems what so ever.

Cons: The Semi-Modular design is "ok" at best with the price of this power supply. You'd think for 229.99 (at time of purchase) it would be fully modular for cable management purposes but, oh well, not worth taking an egg off because it worked out of the box perfectly.

Overall Review: Has different light settings. Off, Red, and Blue.

MSI 990FXA-GD80 V2 AM3+ AMD 990FX + SB950 USB 3.0 ATX AMD Motherboard

Pros: This board is awesome, I have had no problems with it since I bought it and there is so much to say about it. To start, the automatic overclock works as intended, I am not using it at the moment but it does work nicely, doesn't push it too far and doesn't bottleneck with my setup. The layout works out nicely with how I have my computer setup. The PCI-Slots are spread out decently unlike some other boards I have come across, this one gives space between cards for SLI/Crossfire support and room for air flow in between. The BIOS are a snap to use, for a first time builder it definitely made it easy for me to get around and familiarize myself with the whole setup. Setting up primary boot drives, checking what my RAM was running at and everything was a breeze because of how easy this board made it. The color display and even added mouse capability was nice. This motherboard also came with USB 3.0, and a PCI adapter if you would like to have it setup in the rear if your computer case doesn't have front panel connectors (mine did so it worked out even NICER.) Just everything about this board was a breeze for me, glad I paid the extra buck for what came with this board.

Cons: Honestly couldn't tell you.

Pros: It's a DVD-Everything. Didn't come DOA and I've trusted ASUS with quite a few things in the past such as my new monitor and my previous motherboard, so I figured it would be a good buy despite the few negative reviews I read. Works perfect out of the box. Keep in mind it is OEM so it does not come with any cables or anything, just the drive itself. Plug and play and responsive. The black faceplate matches my case nicely.

Cons: Not going to knock an egg off for it because it's too miniscule for it to matter, but like others have said you can hear it winding up on boot-up and when there's a disc in it, other than that it makes no noise.
