Pros: Great look and the right connections for SSD.
Can take a fair amount of memory.
Windows 10 Anniversary works like a charm.
Cons: Outside of web browsing the thing is useless unless you can tolerate the noise from the fan.
The thing is so under powered yet it heats up like it's actually doing something.
I read an article that they were able to get the fan to run quieter by using better thermal paste.
Well, I rebuilt the thing from the ground up with arctic silver and the thing still buzzes away which makes watching movies un-tolerable.
What gets me is the expense of a bare bones unit when for $100 more you can get a fully fleshed out laptop with touchscreen and no noise.
Somehow every time I buy from Newegg I get burnt whether it be this unit, a phone or a Battery Backup for my computer.
The horrors of online shopping and mostly cheap products from China.
Other Thoughts: No, I would NOT recommend this to others.
It has no function unless you pull it from it's case and use it as some type of modded product with a quieter fan.
Possibly a MAME project or an advanced controller.
Either way, using as a desktop replacement outside of surfing the web and email is useless when you can get something cheaper or pay a little more for laptop.
Heck, Tablets can out do this thing.
Why such things are released to the public when their own engineers know the sound of the fan is an issue is beyond me other than they are just in it for the money and don't care about customer satisfaction.
Pros: 100% NONE
Cons: Where should I start.
NOT designed for Windows 10. This was originally for Windows 8 AND I paid $40.
It took a lot of complaining to the someone from customer service over a month just to get drivers.
Windows 10 takes up most of the 16 gig space because there is NO small version of Windows 10.
Do NOT try to upgrade because there is not enough space, you will have to reinstall overtop of.
The SD Card does not come online until after it's booted and is recognized as a separate drive so your out of luck when it comes to installing more than a couple of apps.
The screen is made of plastic and scratches and hope that the right drivers is in their package or the touch does not work, I got my driver from another user that figured it out and NOT their customer service.
Speaking of, don't expect customer support.
This is nothing but the cheapo of the cheapest coming out of Mexico product.
Don't even get me started on the Excursion XB. If your dumb enough to buy that garbage then your dumb enough to lose the money.
Other Thoughts: I wouldn't recommend this to my mother-in-law.
The screen is too small to be of use as a windows product so your only stuck with apps riddled with advertisements.
I eventually used mine as a controller for my Kodi setup.
Any other use would be a paperweight or give it to someone you hate.
Pros: Android OS that you can use for LIMITED functionality.
Yes you can access the Play Store and Yes it has Flash and Yes it can play most things.
The DEVIL is in the Details.
This is the difference between buying a Samsung S5 or a Blue whatever. You get what you pay for.
It DOES things but not very well and that's what you get for a cheap Chinese knockoff.
It will have fans that don't know any better but it still has limitations.
Cons: The first time I played anything through Kodi it messed up my TV screen then froze the box until I unplugged it. Still trying to get the network to function.
Limited settings on what turned out to be a custom version of Android 5.1.
Have not found any settings to update the OS.
No sound adjustments for irritating pop sound every time I click on something. I don't have to have feedback that I am launching a program. I'm not blind that last time I looked.
Limited settings for other things and I have not found evidence of root or the ability to do it.
Of course the Bright House App will not work because of the HDMI but that is Bright Houses moronic fault in an attempt to what? Stop piracy...Great job because it's worked so far. This DRM garbage only hurts legitimate consumers.
So if your buying this as a set top replacement your out of luck to use Quote "UnAltered" versions of Bright House or other similar apps.
Other Thoughts: I have no intention to recommend this device until the makers do some kind of research with XDA group members or some focus group on what consumers want.
A set top box with root access and the ability to access shared folders on their network to stream music and video for starters.
Also stop limiting functionality. If it's a memory issue then go back to the store because memory is cheap these days.
I can rant all day but nothings going to change.
I keep buying these devices and they remain just as cra!ppy.
As a final thought, go on YouTube and watch a review of whatever it is your buying. Let the other sucker pay for it.
I'm out $70 something bucks and had to wait 3 weeks to be suckered.
