Didn't have it long before it stopped working
Pros: Holds a lot.
Cons: It started giving me error messages and has a blinking orange light on the front. I contacted tech support at Buffalo (which takes forever btw, they don't respond to emails for 2 days and their phone hold time is absolutely ridiculous). They said I have a bad sector and have to fill out and RMA to get it fixed or replaced. I don't even want to because it's probably just going to fail again and I'll lose all my videos, music, pictures, documents, etc.
Overall Review: I don't know why I buy stuff from Buffalo anymore, nothing but problems. This is the last time.
Doesn't support Firewire to USB????
Pros: I haven't really found any
Cons: I can't get it to recognize my Canon HV20 which will only export HDV via Firewire and my motherboard does not have a firewire connection. I sent Iogear an email and they claim that this device doesn't support Firewire to USB connections. What in the world does it do then?
I hope it's as good as everyone says. Tech support AWFUL
Pros: Everyone says it's great. Wasn't too hard to set up.
Cons: Buffalo Tech support. One of the worst tech support incidents I've had in years. I waited ONE HOUR and SEVENTEEN minutes before they answered the phone. I thought maybe their system was broken and I just kept it on speakerphone while doing other things not believing anyone would ever pick up. Then some little smarmy punk kid picks up the phone, gets my info, and says "How can I help you?" in a tone that sounded like he would rather be doing anything in the world than talking to me. I ask him about upgrading the firmware, he says "It's fine out of the box." I said what about Tomato or DD-WRT... he says again with an attitude "It's fine out of the box." I then asked him another question to fix my XBOX 360 connection problem and he told me what to do but again sounded like he was very mad for having to talk to me. What an awful experience.
Overall Review: Everyone talks about doing these Firmware upgrades (flashes?) but I read the step by step instructions and it's way over my head. There should be a much easier way to do these things.
