Pros: This card is extremely fast, easily 30% faster than the 7970 it replaced, up to 50% faster in some cases.
Takes everything I throw at it, and then some. Also overclocks pretty well. With minimal tweaking I'm running stable at 1175 core, 1625 mem for an effective 6.5ghz memory freq.
Cons: Runs very hot. The reference cooler is not sufficient to keep this card running at its highest clock speeds. The card constantly runs at 95°C on the stock cooler. That can be off putting for some, regardless of reassurances that the card is designed to run at this temperature from AMD engineers and execs.
It is also fairly loud under load.
Other Thoughts: I put an EK waterblock on this card and have it watercooled along with my 3570k
The machine is now extremely quiet under load, and even with moderate overvoltage and overclocking, temperature never exceeds 55°C, and maintains my 1175 core frequency with little or no variation.
Pros: Blazing fast... Decent power consumption, very cool when idle. 3DVantage 23,000 points on an un-optimized run. Amazing performance and a decent price, Definitely nVidia's best single GPU card to date.
Cons: I want another one...
Runs a little bit hot under full load (80C+ in Crysis, low to mid 70's in others)
Other Thoughts: My System:
QX6850 @ 3.6ghz
OCZ Reaper 1066 RAM
Pros: Sped my PC up considerably, coming from 5-6-6-18 OCZ vista upgrade ram. PC booted about twice as fast and my start up programs came up almost instantly.
Cons: Single heat-pipe design, not the dual pictured, but I like this design a lot ;D
Other Thoughts: Gotta get that rebate in...READ FULL REVIEW
