Great product

Vantec NexStar 2.5"/3.5" SATA to SuperSpeed USB 3.0 Storage Adapter - Model CB-SATAU3
Vantec NexStar 2.5"/3.5" SATA to SuperSpeed USB 3.0 Storage Adapter - Model CB-SATAU3

Pros: Have used it in the computer shop where I work every day since around the time this thing first hit the market. Didn't buy it from Newegg, I couldn't find one on here at the time. Never had an issue with this adapter at all except in some older software bootdisks (hdd cloning software) I use my other vantec adapters for that (usb 2.0 versions). This adapter is very fast. I'll be buying the SATA III version soon. They didn't have that version when I bought this one.

Cons: Don't have to keep unplugging the USB. Just kill tghe device with the power switch whenever you are finished with the hdd. Makes for very fast turn around time because I don't have to fumble with the back of my computer trying to find the USB 3.0 ports.

Overall Review: None. Great product.

Most Critical Review

Go with a Zalman

COOLER MASTER V8 RR-UV8-XBU1-GP 120mm Rifle CPU Cooler Compatible with Intel 1366/1155/775 and AMD AM3/AM2+/AM2
COOLER MASTER V8 RR-UV8-XBU1-GP 120mm Rifle CPU Cooler Compatible with Intel 1366/1155/775 and AMD AM3/AM2+/AM2

Pros: None.

Cons: Just built a new machine and was trying to put this heatsink on when I realized that one of the four screws that attaches it to the mohterboard was not tapped. Great...no threads. So I got a refund on my money and bought a Zalman 110mm which keeps my processor extremely cool.

Overall Review: Also, many of the fins were bent...so I have to ask myself, who do they pay to watch the production line over at cooler master these days?

Go SSD

Western Digital WD VelociRaptor WD1500HLFS 150GB 10000 RPM 16MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive Bare Drive
Western Digital WD VelociRaptor WD1500HLFS 150GB 10000 RPM 16MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive Bare Drive

Pros: Yes, it's a fast hard drive.

Cons: I recently set up a Raid 0 array with two of these drives. I've never owned an ssd and was a little worried about any unseen issues they may cause, so I played it safe and went with these instead. Now, I wish I had went the ssd route. On Windows Experience Index (now, I'm sure there are much more accurate tests out there, but I wasn't that concerned) my Raid 0 VelociRapter Array received a 6.1. That was stunning because a single 7200 RPM drive will get a 5.9. I was expecting much better. I bought an OCZ Vertex II ssd for my laptop the other day and it received a 7.6 on the same test. 60 GB Vertex 2: $110 150 GB Rapter: $120 You do the math. (I don't care about capacity, as I have large WD Blacks that handle my data)

Pros: Finally, something from this site that makes me breakfast.

Cons: They aren't Egg Lands Best.
