XFX Black Edition PSU

XFX Black Edition XPS-850W-BES 850 W ATX12V / EPS12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS SILVER Certified Modular Active PFC Power Supply
XFX Black Edition XPS-850W-BES 850 W ATX12V / EPS12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS SILVER Certified Modular Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: This power supply is a bit costly, but has many quality features compared to other power supplies. -The Power supply case is constructed of a very thick metal case. -It has a powder coating to protect from scratching. -The thick cables are wrapped in thick sleeving which makes cables slightly hard to get in the directions you want so it may not be the best if your trying to hide cables into smaller enclosures. The power cable is almost a half an inch thick, thicker than normal cables which are usually 1/4" or 3/8". -The fan is very quiet. -Comes with a nice XFX cable case to hold extra modular cables and such things. -Modular connectors are strong, once they are clicked on they are snug and don't get loose.

Cons: My power supply sits at the bottom of my case. I would like to see the power cables on the right side of the power supply instead of the left. If it were on the right the cables would be closer to the motherboard, and the cables would not need extensions, but regardless the cables were long enough to plug into the motherboard. The first two 8pin pci-e cables are not modular. I would like to see these modular because others may not need two of them, so they're stuck with cable's they have to try to hide which gets rid of the purpose for buying modular in the first place. You have the choice to use the 8pin cpu connector or the 4+4 cpu connector, but if you don't use both or you only need one of them, again, you have to hide extra cables. The XFX black edition sticker will start to peel around the edges after a while, not a lot, but enough to notice, it's probably because of the powder coating.

Overall Review: I have an XFX 790i Ultra with an XFX GTX 285 Black Edition. If you have any xfx products you can register the power supply online and if anything goes wrong you can have the problem resolved very quickly. I went with this power supply because this is the amount of power I needed, quality, yes-looks, the $20 gift certificate, and free shipping. Otherwise, if you want to save some cash you can find a power supply at about this wattage for a cheaper price. It may not be as high quality, but a cheaper power supply will get the job done. I give it 5 eggs because it suites all my power supply needs.

Good cable, Good price. Good everything.

Kaybles Model DVI-DD-10FT Black 10 ft. M-M Premium DVI Digital Dual-Link with Ferrites M/M 10 feet - OEM
Kaybles Model DVI-DD-10FT Black 10 ft. M-M Premium DVI Digital Dual-Link with Ferrites M/M 10 feet - OEM

Pros: I got 3 of these. They come in a clear bag, sealed and wrapped together with wire ties. Measured out theiy're actually about 10ft 2 inches long. Meaning the cable is about 10ft and the connectors being about 1" each. The cables are not too stiff and are fairly flexible to reach their destination. I have these hooked up to three monitors almost exactly 10ft away from my computer. Each monitor is a 120hz monitor with a 1920x1080 resolution. Hence the need for Dual-link DVI. I have experienced no problems so far with any loss of signal and running at 120hz. Only reason I chose this one long cable instead of an extension is because this ended up being cheaper and I didn't want to risk a bad connection with using an extension. The price is worth it for $9 free shipping. If I go to Best buy they want to charge me $20- 30 for the same thing in retail packaging.

Cons: Not really a con but make sure you plug it in all the way. It will go in easy but you have to push it in the rest of the way to make it snug. You may not get signal because of this. So don't forget to screw it in for a RELIABLE connection.

Overall Review: As always Newegg shipped out quickly!
