ASUS Zenbook UX31E-DH52 Ultrabook Intel Core i5 2557M (1.70 GHz) 128 GB SSD Intel HD Graphics Shared memory 13.3
  • Owned For: less than 1 day

Pros: I love everything about this, with one glaring exception. It looks great, is light, runs cool and is quiet. Touchpad works pretty well for me (it's an Elan). I like how it comes with ethernet and CGA dongles. Stylish case (and box for what that's worth)

Cons: The keyboard is the worst I have ever used. Pressing off center feels and sounds like the key has depressed all the way, but frequently nothing is registered. It's inconsistent too. Pressing the same place can register a stroke on one press, but not on the next.

Other Thoughts: Without a usable keyboard, using this machine is torture. It's easier for me to type on my eee 900. Not getting another Zenbook until I hear it's been fixed, and am able to confirm it myself. Too few reviews said anything about it (though having tried it, it's pretty easy to find people complaining about it on the web now)

2 out of 5 eggs uncomfortable 05/10/2009

This review is from: Microsoft Comfort Optical Mouse 3000

Pros: I bought this mouse as it uses the perfect DPI for me (1000 DPI) so I don't have to adjust the speed up in the control panel, losing accuracy.

Cons: This is the most uncomfortable mouse I have ever used. My hand feels like it is going to cramp up after a couple minutes. The skinny in the middle shape leaves nowhere for my pinky, except bowed inward under my ring finger. If instead of three fingers on top I just use two, it's slightly more comfortable but the curvature leaves it tilted about 20 degrees to the left unless I contort my hand some more.

Other Thoughts: Terrible terrible shape. I can't imagine for whom it would be a Comfort Mouse.

Pros: great speed boost over my 7900gt. It is very very quiet (see other thoughts)

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: I bought it intending to replace the cooler with an hr-03 gt. This card is perfect for that, as it already has a separate VRM cooler and uses only a single expansion slot cover so if you wrap the hr-03 around the back (to be next to your exhaust fan) you could use the slot right below the card if you wished.

But I haven't bothered yet - the built in fan is so quiet. And it looks nice too. The cooler + card + color scheme is very pleasing.
