Horrible customer service
Pros: The hardware aspect of this computer works great and is a good value.
Cons: Bought this computer as something for my son to use for his homework. Unfortunately Windows 8 would not validate and no Windows product key was included. I contacted the refurbisher whose customer service was horrible. They would only communicate via email to tell me they wanted me to ship the unit to them to fix it. I contacted Newegg and they did get the refurbisher to contact me with a live person via phone. After contacting Gateway they confirmed that a new copy of Windows was needed. The refurbisher still insisted that I send the whole unit back so they could replace it. No thanks, I'll use a copy of Windows that I already have. Is it that hard to send out a new copy of Windows?
